Before the release of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” which is several months off, Marvel Studios hasn’t unveiled any major details apart from an official synopsis and some artwork previews. However, this doesn’t imply a lack of updates, speculations, leaks, or even one recent confirmation from co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach concerning his character, Ben Grimm / The Thing.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Moss-Bachrach was open about The Fantastic Four, but drew the line when it came to certain speculations. He shared some insights into how they’re bringing The Thing to life, but steered clear of discussing potential rumors, specifically whether or not Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom might appear. In other words, he firmly stated that such an occurrence is unlikely, having undergone thorough media training.
Kimmel posed an intriguing question that longtime Fantastic Four fans have been pondering: whether Ben Grimm, famously known for saying “It’s clobberin’ time!”, will actually utter those words. Moss-Bachrach hinted, “I worked it in a few times. We’ll see what transpires. I don’t have the final say on this project, so we’ll see.
He talked about the process of motion capture and if he’s ever witnessed a complete representation (render) of “The Thing.
I’ve witnessed a rather rough depiction since constructing such items can be time-consuming. I don a motion-capture suit equipped with two cameras in this area, allowing them to record all details – every subtle movement, every facial expression, even the thoughts reflected in my eyes.
In a special room known as the Magic Mirror, they ask you to wear a motion-capture suit and sensors. Once ready, they configure monitors for you. As you move, you’ll instantly see a rough version of your character on the screen, displaying the physics and size in real-time.
In addition to his role as The Bear, the actor likewise verified that Andy Serkis and his creative team, Imaginarium, were on set during filming at Pinewood Studios in England. Here’s a link to the full interview between Moss-Bachrach and Kimmel if you’d like to watch it: [Link]
