The Fantastic Four’s Producer Confirms Which Marvel Movie Will Feature The Team Next, But I’m More Interested In What He Said About The Kang Dynasty

As a fan, I can’t help but be excited about the fact that the Fantastic Four, my favorite superhero family, is set to take center stage in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the next decade. The joy of Marvel Studios regaining control of their “toys” from 20th Century Fox means Kevin Feige can now shape the Fantastic Four and X-Men to fit his vision for the MCU. Of course, there’s a lot of buzz surrounding the upcoming Avengers films – Doomsday and Secret Wars. But after those, it’s the mutants and the Future Foundation who will be tasked with carrying on Marvel’s legacy.

Marvel Studios dismisses the notion that “superhero exhaustion” exists, as they aim to produce Marvel films indefinitely, continually finding innovative ways to refresh the genre. This point was raised during TopMob’s visit to the London set of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“, where producer Grant Curtis, involved with one of Marvel’s most anticipated movies, expressed that he didn’t observe any signs of fatigue in this type of storytelling.

I’m not disputing it. In essence, my affection for his work remains unwavered, and I eagerly anticipate hearing and watching more of these tales. Thus, Kevin continues to receive my financial support. Moreover, I firmly believe there are numerous compelling stories yet to be told. He is indeed a masterful storyteller, a title I bestow upon him with the utmost respect for his narrative prowess. And I’m convinced that his creative mind will continue to astound us with future hits. Rest assured, I’m not disclosing any confidential information. Kevin himself has been open about the involvement of these characters in Avengers 5. So, I do believe that if we execute our roles effectively, and as you can see, it seems we are, we are setting up a variety of other stories. If you’re familiar with the comics, you know that the Fantastic Four’s universe serves as an expansive playground.

In 2008, when setting up the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the studio had to work with characters they owned the rights to, which is why they began with Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor instead of producing an MCU Spider-Man film right away. Essentially, with Phase 6, Marvel has the opportunity to start fresh and potentially reboot the MCU. The MCU’s Multiverse provides a great deal of flexibility for introducing new versions of established characters, but it also gives Marvel the chance to revise storylines when something unforeseen like the Jonathan Majors controversy arises.

As a movie critic, I recently inquired about the initial plans for Avengers 5 to be an adaptation of The Kang Dynasty and how Matt Shakman’s Fantastic Four: First Steps had to adapt due to these changes. Grant Curtis, who I spoke with at TopMob, shared some insights on this topic.

Indeed, this is Avengers 5. As for Marvel’s approach, I’m fully invested in the Fantastic Four. Although I have some understanding of what’s happening beyond this film, our attention is primarily on the current project. Unfortunately, I can’t share all the intricacies of the Kang Dynasty or where it fits into the current narrative. However, our main goal is to craft the most compelling story possible, so that viewers become emotionally attached to these characters and eagerly anticipate more from them.

We’ll find out if it works when the third Marvel Cinematic Universe film of 2025, titled “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” premieres in cinemas on July 25.
