One distinctive feature of the Fast & Furious movie series, beyond emphasizing family values, is its focus on incredibly swift vehicles.
Universal Studios Hollywood intends to embody the swift essence with their forthcoming roller coaster, named Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. Upon completion, this thrilling ride will claim the title of fastest in the Universal Parks collection, reaching a breathtaking speed of 72 miles per hour.
Before the grand opening of the thrilling and action-packed attraction, the park has graciously released a sneak peek video (check it out below) to excite fans about what the roller coaster will look like when it roars to life next year. Additionally, we’ve got some cool concept art showcasing a Hollywood Drift seat design inspired by Dominic Toretto’s famous 1970 Dodge Charger (portrayed by Vin Diesel). The other four vehicles on offer are also based on iconic vehicles from the hit movie franchise.
Scott Strobl, Executive Vice President & General Manager of Universal Studios Hollywood, declared that watching the development of this remarkable roller coaster is nothing short of breathtaking. In a statement, he expressed that 2026 is swiftly approaching and the team is equally as thrilled as our visitors to unveil such an awe-inspiring ride in our theme park collection. The new attraction, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, will serve as a potent catalyst for Universal Studios Hollywood, reshaping the landscape of our destination and injecting even more adrenaline into an already exhilarating theme park. We can’t wait to hop on it ourselves and invite guests to join us for the ride in the not-so-distant future.

The ride vehicles on this coaster will rotate 360 degrees, propelling riders to 72 MPH along a 4,100 feet track. This intricately designed path incorporates sound reduction technology for an exhilarating experience. As the ride progresses, guests will feel like they’re in a spinning car as they soar above various parts of the theme park, including the multi-tiered escalator linking the Upper and Lower Lots.

When will the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift rollercoaster open?
The time hasn’t come yet for us to floor it. The exhilarating ride, nestled within a garage-style building on the Upper Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood, won’t start transporting passengers on their adrenaline-pumping journey until somewhere in 2026.
