As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for crime dramas, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing that Netflix is renewing Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen for a second season! With my fingers crossed and anticipation building, I eagerly await the return of Eddie Horniman, the reluctant yet genteel gangster, and Susie, his formidable partner-in-crime.
Netflix has renewed Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen for a second season.
As a devoted gamer, I’m thrilled to share that the mastermind behind the TV show set in the realm of Miramax’s film of the same name is coming back to steer the series. Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, and Daniel Ings will once again step into their iconic roles. However, the new faces for season two are still kept under wraps. Stay tuned for more updates!
In the initial series of “The Gentlemen”, we meet James as Eddie Horniman, a character who finds himself unexpectedly elevated to the position of Duke of Halstead following his father’s death and the inheritance of his substantial rural property. However, this grand estate hides a secret: it operates an illegal marijuana farm managed brutally by Susie (Scodelario) and her crime boss father Bobby Glass, portrayed by Ray Winstone.
Horniman transformed into an unwilling yet refined mobster and joined forces with Susie as they tackled rival and amusing crime families in a treacherous corporate environment. The upcoming second season, penned by Ritchie and Matthew Read, will commence with Eddie and Susie leading a colossal marijuana empire amidst a sea of ruthless competitors.
Filming will get underway in 2025.
James shared with Netflix’s Tudum website insights about his character’s complex bond with partner-in-crime Susie: “I believe they’ve developed feelings for one another in their unique way, yet I don’t think they’ll ever completely rely on each other due to their profound differences and distinct origins. There’s a connection between them, but fundamentally, they will never share the same background.”
The Gentlemen is overseen in an executive capacity by Ritchie, Will Gould, Read, Frith Tiplady, Marc Helwig, and Ivan Atkinson. This series was created by Moonage Pictures specifically for Netflix and Miramax Television.
