The Great Sneeze is a new all-ages point-and-click adventure, out now on Android and iOS

  • The Great Sneeze is a newly-released, all-ages point-and-click adventure
  • Play Kaspar, David and Friederike as they seek to reassemble a gallery after the titular sneeze
  • Solve quick, fun minigames and explore the works of artist Caspar David Friedrichs

When it comes to introducing young audiences to sophisticated art, it can sometimes seem like a daunting task. However, an effective way to make this approachable is by turning it into a game and making it enjoyable. That’s exactly what the recently released all-ages point-and-click adventure The Great Sneeze aims to do with its engaging puzzles and casual fun.

Set inside a high-class art gallery, The Great Sneeze follows a trip to the museum, where students Kaspar, David and Friederike arrive to view the paintings of, well, Caspar David Friedrich, the famous artist. However, as they help out Mr Dietzke to set up for the grand opening of the gallery, a great sneeze sets everything in disarray.

It’s up to these three, guided by you, to set things right before the exhibition opens and ensure that everything goes off without a hitch. To do so you’ll need to explore the various paintings and solve quick, bite-sized puzzles in order to ensure that everything’s back in its right place.

Do touch the artwork

If you’re getting flashbacks to the (excellent) Please, Touch the Artwork then you’re not alone. As The Great Sneeze seems to be following a similar setup of celebrating the works of a famous artist (singular in this case) by encouraging players to engage with their artwork in an interactive way.

As Catherine points to in her review of The Great Sneeze, which is out now on iOS and Android, this may be an all-ages release but it’s certainly not just “for kids”; and it’s certainly not a slog either as it offers plenty of intriguing and fun minigames to enjoy as you work to fix the gallery.
