The Hilarious Outtake Joke Colin Jost Made About Channing Tatum And Wife Scarlett Johansson When He Showed Up On The Set Of Fly Me To The Moon

As a longtime fan of romantic comedies and a follower of Hollywood’s behind-the-scenes shenanigans, I can confidently say that the casting of Colin Jost in “Fly Me To The Moon” was a stroke of genius, even if it was a small cameo. Having witnessed the camaraderie between Johansson, Tatum, and Jost during their time on Saturday Night Live, it’s no surprise to see their chemistry translate off-screen as well.

2024 is seeing an influx of delightful romantic comedies in its movie lineup, and among them is one featuring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum. The duo has shared warm words about each other and appeared to enjoy filming together, but this camaraderie was heightened when Scarlett’s husband Colin Jost joined them on set. It’s said that he even contributed some amusing moments that didn’t make it into the final cut!

If you recall, the comedy actor Jost makes a brief appearance in the film “Fly Me To The Moon”. His role is that of a baffled senator, and it wasn’t his spouse who suggested this cameo; instead, it was director Greg Berlanti who extended the invitation. According to USA Today, Berlanti approached Jost to join the set. He was delighted with the humor Jost added to the production. If only more could have been included in the movie…

[Jost] was such a treat. I got to know him socially through Scarlett, and I was the one begging, ‘Will he just come in?’ Colin had everybody in stitches; there are a lot of outtakes. There’s a very funny one where he looks at Scarlett and Channing and says, ‘Is something going on between you guys?’ All this off-the-cuff stuff that was really funny.

It seems like you had quite a delightful predicament on your hands – having so much hilarious material that it warranted additional scenes or bloopers after the main credits, or as extras for possible DVD/streaming editions due to time or consistency limitations. A skillful director would be adept at selecting the choicest humor for the film from this abundance.

Despite Berlanti’s comment not being necessary, it’s quite evident that having the SNL star present on set was a tremendous advantage. In fact, Channing Tatum expressed earlier this year that having Jost around was fantastic, as they seldom have an opportunity to collaborate. Tatum also acknowledged that humor is challenging and he admires Jost greatly for effortlessly turning on the comedic switch.

This brings up the possibility: Might Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson appear together in a comedy film at some future date? Given their ability to blend professional and personal interactions, even in limited capacities, it’s intriguing to imagine them sharing the screen for an entire movie. At present, we only have the short film Fly Me To The Moon to enjoy their on-screen chemistry.

If you’re interested in watching “Fly Me To The Moon”, you can do so this coming weekend (December 6th) if you have an Apple TV+ subscription. This comedy, featuring Jost, is said to be one of the streaming service’s major holiday releases this year. Enjoy the laughter!
