The Hollywood Reporter is set to debut a Spanish-language edition in partnership with Tasty Media.
Over the course of several years, I’ve become privileged to be part of an exclusive licensing agreement that grants me access to unique, top-tier content showcasing the finest gems of Ibero-American cinema and television, all specially curated for Spanish-speaking fans like myself. That’s right! It’s The Hollywood Reporter en Español, and it’s here to satisfy our shared passion for storytelling in the Spanish language.
Extending our top-tier editorial content into international markets has been a key focus for the THR brand,” noted Shirley Halperin, co-editor-in-chief at The Hollywood Reporter. “We’re thrilled to have The Hollywood Reporter in Spanish join us on our mission to share compelling entertainment news with Spanish-speaking audiences across the Americas, Europe, and beyond.
Alison Smith-Pleiser, vice president international for The Hollywood Reporter (THR), expressed delight about THR’s plan to broaden its influence across Latin America and Spain. This move aims to honor and emphasize the vibrant Hispanic culture using unique content, all while providing culturally relevant news to Spanish-speaking readers. We are eager to expand THR’s global impact through our online platform and new Spanish edition, fostering connections with new audiences in a significant manner.
This partnership with Tasty Media, focusing on highlighting Hispanic culture, contributes to THR‘s goal of increasing its global reach and broadening its impact among influential international audiences.
Diego Ortiz, CEO of Tasty Media, stated that for more than a hundred years, Spain and Latin America have contributed significantly to the world through their artistic expressions in visual arts, influential film festivals, and unforgettable cultural experiences. Nowadays, Spanish-speaking markets are an essential part of the industry, contributing greatly to global media and art. We take pride in preserving and furthering the legacy of one of the most esteemed journalism institutions ever,” said Diego Ortiz.
Content in the Spanish language is enjoyed worldwide, and our objective is to magnify and exhibit the depth of our culture. With editorial teams situated in multiple countries, we strive to offer locale-specific content and supply a wide array of news from the realms of Hispanic entertainment, cinema, and television. Our aim is to craft exceptional experiences for the thriving creative industries that share our language.
Launching “The Hollywood Reporter en Español” is the next step in the international growth of THR, which has already expanded into Italy, India, and Japan. This move comes after a series of accolades for The Hollywood Reporter, such as winning the award for best website at the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards and the SoCal Journalism Awards in 2024.
