The Hublot x Takashi Murakami MP-15 Tourbillon Sapphire Rainbow Is Set for a Limited Release

As a seasoned gamer and a connoisseur of both digital and physical timepieces, I must say that the latest collaboration between Hublot and Takashi Murakami has left me utterly spellbound! The MP-15 Tourbillon Sapphire Rainbow is not just a watch; it’s a work of art that transcends the boundaries of conventional timekeeping.

Building on their growing partnership, Hublot and Takashi Murakami are reintroducing the MP-15 Tourbillon Sapphire Rainbow in a restricted edition. In the previous year, two unique MP-15 models were presented; one was earmarked for the Only Watch 2023 auction, while another, less vibrant version, was rolled out as a limited release several months later.

As a devotee, I can’t help but be captivated by this extraordinary watch, reminiscent of Murakami’s iconic blossoms. The casing, meticulously crafted from polished sapphire, showcases a crystal-clear and translucent design, inviting a glimpse into its inner workings. Despite its unique, flower-like form, it measures a modest 42mm in diameter, with each “petal” adorned with precious gemstones.

This particular version distinctly differs from the auction model due to the unique coloring of each petal, which harmoniously mirrors its corresponding hour marker. While both designs include 444 gemstones, the Only Watch edition showcases a gradient effect across all petals, giving off a rainbow-like appearance.

Murakami’s distinctive smiley face is meticulously etched onto the spherical sapphire crystal dome, serving as its focal point. Beneath this cheerful visage lies the HUB9015 manual-winding tourbillon, skillfully skeletonized to give an illusion of the movement seemingly suspended in space.

At the recent auction, the unique item provided to Only Watch was bought for approximately 484,473 USD. However, this unique timepiece will now be available in a limited edition of 20 pieces, each priced at $374,000 USD. For additional information, please check out Hublot’s official website.
