Studios Leavesden is growing and will soon feature a Tudor-style Privet Drive, along with new roads, parking lots, and hangars. An informant shared with The Sun the vast amount of money Warner Bros. is pouring into the upcoming series to make it truly exceptional.
Warner Bros intends to heavily invest in the upcoming TV series, planning to produce numerous extended seasons throughout the next ten years. They view this substantial initial investment as a strategic move that will eventually yield profits. Essentially, they’re building a small city that will not only serve as the setting for the show but also accommodate all the necessary facilities for the large cast and crew.
What particularly captivates my attention in Warner Bros.’ studio expansion is the construction of a school right on set. Given that filming could go on for several years, it’s evident that keeping children away from school for such an extended period would be challenging. Thus, an on-set school seems perfect for child actors. Since the new Harry, Ron, and Hermione are roughly the same age as their magical personas, education holds equal significance for them. Although I suspect they might not be thrilled about learning Muggle subjects instead of Potions, Charms, or Defense Against the Dark Arts.
It’s intriguing to learn that there will be a space on the set to accommodate many of the show’s real animals. Since dogs, rodents, birds of prey, spiders, horses, and snakes occasionally appeared in the Harry Potter series, it’s comforting to know some of these creatures won’t just be computer-generated imagery (CGI). However, Warner Bros. wished to clarify that no animals are kept overnight for this purpose.
Building a new school, Privet Drive, and animal facilities on the Leavesden set seems to suggest that the Harry Potter experience will be just as enchanting for the cast and crew as it will be for viewers. It provides an ideal opportunity for everyone involved to truly immerse themselves in J.K. Rowling’s world while filming.
