Naughty Dog has unveiled their upcoming game titled “Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet,” while simultaneously continuing to develop content for “The Last of Us.” In the interim, they’ve announced a fresh re-release bundle of both games together, titled “The Last of Us Complete Edition.
If you’re not satisfied with the current remasters and remakes, there’s exciting news! The Last of Us Part I and Part II are set to be released together in an all-inclusive collection, featuring plenty of additional content.
The Last of Us Complete Edition
According to official announcements from Naughty Dog, they are set to unveil The Last of Us: Complete Edition. This package includes the recent remake of The Last of Us Part I and an enhanced version of The Last of Us Part II. Here’s a sneak peek at the launch trailer:

Currently, only the digital version is on offer, but there’s also a special Collector’s Edition up for grabs. This edition comes packaged in a steelbook case, along with discs, four beautifully crafted art prints, and issues 1-4 of The Last of Us: American Dreams comics, all adorned with new cover artwork.
How Many Times Can ND Keep Releasing the Same Game?
Since 2013, Naughty Dog has issued a total of six installments in The Last of Us series; if we include the Complete Edition, that makes it seven titles in all.
- The Last of Us (2013)
- The Last of Us: Left Behind (2014)
- The Last of Us Remastered (2014)
- The Last of Us Part II (2020)
- The Last of Us Part I (2022)
- The Last of Us Part II Remastered (2024)
- The Last of Us Complete Edition (2025)
In summary, there are three different versions of the first Last of Us game, and the second one has two. Originally, a multiplayer game based on The Last of Us Part II was planned as a follow-up to Factions. However, instead of simply re-releasing The Last of Us once more, Naughty Dog decided to focus their efforts on Intergalactic instead.
The ‘Complete’ Story?

Some fans fear that the ‘Complete Edition’ might signal an end to Ellie’s story without a third installment. Previously, game director Neil Druckmann hinted at the possibility of no more games, yet others remain hopeful for a trilogy. They speculate that if a third game is made, it could be remastered and offered alongside the previous ones as part of ‘Complete Edition Ultimate Remake Bundles’ in future years.
For now, it seems that’s all we have from “The Last of Us” until “Intergalactic” is released. Fingers crossed that the HBO series has a plan for where the narrative might progress beyond the ending of “Part II”.
You can grab The Last of Us Complete Edition digitally right now, but if you prefer the physical Collector’s Edition, it’ll be out on shelves starting July 10.
