As a longtime gamer and comic book enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming “Deadpool & Wolverine” movie. The new trailer has only fueled my anticipation further with its tantalizing teases of multiple Deadpool variants, including the enigmatic Cowboy Deadpool.
Approximately one week before the release of “Deadpool & Wolverine” in cinemas, an intriguing sneak peek emerged, putting an end to a long-running series of rumors and conjecture. Regardless of the outcome, this anticipated film promises to leave us all amazed through its unique blend of humor and thrilling action sequences. The most recent trailer hints at the presence of multiple Deadpool characters in the movie, sparking much debate over who might portray Lady Deadpool. Contenders include Blake Lively and Taylor Swift, but a wildcard option remains a possibility as well.
In contrast, the most outrageous character in the trailer isn’t Lady Deadpool, but rather the introduction of a Cowboy Deadpool. He’s seen wearing spurs on his boots and carrying a pistol. Initially, it may seem like a humorous nod to the existence of a cowboy realm within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This concept has been explored in shows like “Futurama” and “Rick and Morty.” However, this Cowboy Deadpool might not be your typical character and could potentially be the Deadpool Kid from the comics. There are some intriguing implications to consider with that possibility.
Who is Cowboy Deadpool?
Merc With a Mouth” #7 in 2010, created by Victor Gischler, Rob Liefeld, Matt Milla, Kyle Baker, and Das Pastoras. This alternate Deadpool is modeled after old Western characters, and the original Deadpool of Earth-616 shoots him in the head (although it’s not easy to kill a Deadpool). The Deadpool Kid reappears later in the series.
In the comic series “Deadpool & Wolverine,” it’s not unexpected to encounter various Deadpool versions since the Time Variance Authority plays a significant role in the storyline. This organization appears to have plucked Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) from his reality and enabled him to mingle with a different Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), who shattered his world’s peace. While it’s possible that other Deadpool characters like Cowboy Deadpool, Lady Deadpool, and Dogpool might make an appearance, there could be more complex reasons behind this crossover. A looming threat beyond Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), a formidable X-Men adversary scarier than Onslaught, could be the real culprit.
Is that a Deadpool army in the new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer?
As a gamer, I’d put it this way: In the latest “Deadpool & Wolverine” trailer, it’s simple to miss that there are other Deadpools strolling together in the same direction as the main one. It hints at the possibility of more than just a few variants making brief appearances. Instead, we might be dealing with an entire army of Deadpools, and they may not have come to aid the Merc with a Mouth.
As a longtime comic book fan and avid Deadpool enthusiast, I can’t help but get excited when I hear about the latest adventures of the Merc with a Mouth. And let me tell you, the “Deadpool Kills Deadpool” storyline is one for the books!
In the upcoming “Deadpool 3,” we have been given hints of several Marvel villains who may make an appearance, including Pyro (Aaron Stanford) and Alioth. While it’s unclear what twists and turns the story will take, there’s a strong possibility that Cassandra Nova will need help dealing with Deadpool’s antics. One potential solution could be summoning various Deadpool versions from different universes, resulting in an epic Deadpool battle. It’s a far-fetched idea, but it fits well within the context of this third installment. Audience members can find out how the film unfolds when “Deadpool & Wolverine” hits theaters on July 26.
