The New Joker: Folie A Deux Trailer Hides A Secret Batman Villain

As a long-time fan of Batman and his intricate rogues gallery, I can hardly contain my excitement for “Joker: Folie à Deux.” The prospect of seeing Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker join forces with Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn has already piqued my interest. But the latest trailer revealed a potential game-changer: the presence of Harvey Dent, who is confirmed to appear in some capacity.

As a longtime fan of DC Comics and the Joker character in particular, I can’t contain my excitement for “Joker: Folie à Deux”! The prospect of watching Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker and Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn share an unhinged love story on the big screen is already enough to get my heart racing. Their chemistry in the new trailer looks electric, and I can only imagine what kind of chaos they will wreak together.

In the trailer’s opening scene, the Joker is depicted driving in a car as different characters provide voiceovers discussing his criminal acts from the previous movie. Among these voices is Harvey Dent’s, who later transforms into the villain Two-Face. It’s important to note that before this transformation, Harvey holds the position of District Attorney in Gotham, making his legal knowledge essential for the upcoming sequel.

In a later part of the trailer, Joker is seen having an angry outburst in a courtroom scene. This implies that Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face, could have a larger role beyond just making a brief appearance to blame Arthur Fleck for something. This speculation aligns with fan theories suggesting that “Joker 2” may introduce other Batman villains, even if they appear before becoming full-fledged criminals.

Could Harvey Dent become Two-Face in Joker 2?

As a gamer, I’ve been following the latest news about “Joker: Folie à Deux” and the rumors surrounding who will play Harvey Dent, the future Batman foe. In the new trailer, we only hear his voice-over, so it’s unclear if Harry Lawtey is indeed taking on the role. According to online reports, he was previously added to the supporting cast, but until an official announcement is made, it’s all just speculation.

In the upcoming “Joker 2,” I’m excited to see how Harvey, who already has a legal career, evolves from his comic book counterpart, who is roughly the same age as Bruce Wayne. In the movie, it’s been two years since “Arthur Fleck” made an impact on Gotham city, making it unlikely for Bruce to don the cape and cowl as Batman any time soon. However, some viewers might ponder if Harvey will transform into Two-Face in this new installment.

It’s unclear but apparent that Harvey harbors dislike for Joker, calling him a “monstrous” figure. However, this perspective might clash with the large following of Gothamites who consider Arthur as a symbol of courage. In the upcoming trial, there’s a possibility that someone could gravely harm Harvey, possibly damaging his face. As we saw Bruce Wayne’s parents being killed in “Joker” (2019), it wouldn’t be surprising if this sequel delves deeper into Gotham City’s history. This marks the first live-action portrayal of Harvey Dent in a Batman film since “The Dark Knight” (2008). There are whispers of Boyd Holbrook taking on the role of Two-Face in “The Batman Part II.” For now, fans eagerly await the release of “Joker 2” on October 4.
