However, when it comes to Wonder Woman, the character I grew up admiring, I find myself torn between my nostalgia for Lynda Carter and the modernized version portrayed by Gal Gadot.

In 2025, James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe will introduce their version of Superman on the big screen, which means fans of comic books can anticipate lots of news about superhero recastings. We already know that David Corenswet will play the DCU’s Superman, but the roles of Batman and Wonder Woman are still up for grabs, particularly the latter as she carries significant weight. While many actors have played Batman over the years, finding a suitable successor to Wonder Woman is challenging due to her commanding presence on-screen. She portrays Jackie Cleaver, an emerging bodybuilder who finds herself in a loop of love, death, and steroids. The character demands a wide range of emotions from O’Brian, oscillating between intense physicality and profound sensitivity. Given her ability to pull off such a role, it seems fitting that she could play Wonder Woman. O’Brian delivers an outstanding performance, impressively meeting the challenge she knew would be tough before diving into it.
