In 2022, the character Ironheart, played by Dominique Thorne, made her debut in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” This movie laid the foundation for her superhero storyline. As a brilliant student at MIT, she’s on par with Tony Stark (portrayed by Robert Downey Jr.), and she creates her own Iron Man-like suit. The film received high praise from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, earning an impressive score of 84%. Despite the sad passing of Chadwick Boseman, who starred in the original Black Panther, many critics found the sequel to be a touching tribute to him. Many also praised Dominique Thorne’s performance as Riri, with Peter Travers of ABC News commenting, “When the global politics become too heavy, it’s great to have Thorne as the vibrant presence that liven up this MCU.
The review by Looper lauded the movie as extraordinary, describing it as “something truly exceptional.” Despite Chadwick Boseman’s absence, the film managed to earn a staggering $859 million at the box office. While it fell short of the original “Black Panther”‘s record-breaking $1.3 billion, it still holds its own. Ironheart will bring in a touch of magic
In Chicago, Riri returns as Ironheart, ready to embark on her new journey. She’ll find herself entangled in a storyline involving Parker Robbins, known as The Hood (played by Anthony Ramos), who possesses magical abilities. This series promises an intriguing clash of minds as Riri, with her technological expertise, faces off against supernatural forces. It seems that Riri might discover the existence of entities beyond her comprehension. Initially, The Hood and Riri appear to be allies; however, a potential disagreement could lead him towards a more villainous path.
The main characters are Alden Ehrenreich as Joe McGillicuddy, who might be a friend and potential ally to Riri, Lyric Ross portraying Natalie Washington, a friend of Ironheart, and Sacha Baron Cohen in an undisclosed role. There’s speculation that Cohen could take on the character of Mephisto, a powerful demon known for ruling over a fiery realm similar to Hell. Marvel enthusiasts have been anticipating Mephisto’s arrival in the MCU; given his absence in “WandaVision,” “Ironheart” appears to be an ideal opportunity for his introduction, especially since The Hood is delving into dark arts.
