There’s been much speculation about Sofia Gigante’s future after The Penguin wrapped up, and Cristin Milioti, the actress who played her, has spoken up about the potential for her to reprise her role in either The Batman 2 or Season 2 of Colin Farrell’s series. In a recent conversation, she voiced her hopes about possibly playing Sofia once more in future DC projects set within Matt Reeves’ Batman universe.

In her latest podcast interview, the actress from How I Met Your Mother shared her enthusiasm for reprising the role of Sofia Gigante should the opportunity arise.

In an interview on Entertainment Weekly’s The Awardist podcast, Cristin Milioti expressed her desire to play Sofia again in The Batman 2, stating, “It seems incomplete to me. Oh my goodness! I really want to explore her character further, particularly given where we left off last time. So for me, it doesn’t feel like a conclusion, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Near the end of her interview, the 39-year-old actress expressed her earnest wish to return to her role as Penguin. She said, “I truly yearn for an opportunity to revisit this character in some form. It’s not going to be a farewell party, but it remains uncertain.

If Batman 2 isn’t happening, there’s a chance Sofia Gigante could reappear in Season 2 of The Penguin series, which HBO CEO Casey Bloys has hinted at a positive future for. In a recent interview, he suggested that another chapter might be on the horizon, saying, “Is there potential for more? Absolutely. At the moment, Matt’s focus is on the movie, but I know Lauren is brainstorming potential storylines that could complement the film. It’s definitely a possibility.

Towards the finale of “The Penguin”, Sofia Gigante is back within the walls of Arkham Asylum due to being ensnared by Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot’s plots, paving the way for Cristin Milioti’s character to potentially reappear in future DC projects set in alternate realities.
