Ishaan Khatter, Shahid Kapoor’s brother and an actor, is currently making waves due to his outstanding portrayal in the recently launched Netflix series “The Royals” alongside Bhumi Pednekar. In a recent interview, he shared insights about how their mother Neelima Azeem single-handedly raised him and Shahid following their parents’ divorces. Additionally, Ishaan highlighted the impact of having ’empowered women’ around them, as his mom played a crucial role in raising them effectively.

In an interview with News 18, Ishaan Khatter spoke candidly about his mother, Neelima Azeem, and her remarkable ability to raise him and his brother effectively. He commented, “All my life, I’ve been surrounded by a woman who exerts control over her own life. I’ve witnessed her juggle responsibilities effortlessly. She single-handedly provided for us financially while also nurturing two boys.

For those not familiar, Neelima Azeem has been through three marriages. Her first husband was Pankaj Kapur and together they had son Shahid Kapoor. They divorced in 1984. After that, she married Rajesh Khatter and had Ishaan Khatter, but they split in 2001. Neelima’s third marriage was to Ustad Raza Ali Khan, but their union ended in 2009 as well.

Ishaan further discussed his latest series The Royals, expressing satisfaction that it doesn’t rely on stereotypical feminist ideas. He emphasized that the show goes beyond viewing men and women as equals and recognizing them as humans; rather, it explores their relationships in a much deeper sense.
Moreover, Ishaan mentioned that he is not intimidated by assertive women. Yet, he noted that many men struggle to maintain relationships with strong, independent partners.

Simultaneously, Ishaan Khatter opened up about his initial romance, fueling dating speculations with Malaysian model Chandni Banaz. Emphasizing the principle of opposites attract, much like in The Royals, he acknowledged his belief in this concept.

The actor openly discussed his personal past, mentioning that he’s been through romantic experiences and reminisced about his high school romance which was quite like something straight out of a movie, referred to as ‘completely dramatic’. At the tender age of sixteen, he found himself smitten, starting with a passionate altercation in class. This heated argument led to an intense debate, but Ishaan hadn’t foreseen that he would find her adorable and eventually develop feelings for her.
