Ishaan Khatter, known for his role in the Netflix series “The Royals,” recently disclosed details about his initial romantic experience. In a recent chat, the actor recounted how an intense disagreement sparked his high school romance, which eventually unfolded into a timeless teenage love tale.

In the context of his latest work focusing on the concept of opposite attractions, Ishaan shared with News18, “I truly believe that opposites do attract. It’s clear in the example of positive and negative charges. I’ve experienced it in love myself.” He proceeded to recount the story of how his first romantic relationship started.

Initially, it all began as an argument, quite dramatic and movie-like, during our high school years. It was my first romantic experience, and when it concluded, I felt like the whole world had come to an end – he chuckled as he reminisced. Ishaan remembered how they exchanged harsh words in front of their entire class. However, things took a turn after a school debate. “I thought, ‘She’s quite charming!’ And then, love stepped in,” he said with a smile.

He quickly pointed out that it wasn’t founded on hatred. “Hatred is a powerful feeling, and it’s a delicate balance,” he explained. Despite the conclusion of their relationship, the recollections appear to linger in his memory.

At the moment, it appears that Ishaan may be romantically involved with the Malaysian model Chandni Bainz, but he tends to keep his personal relationships out of the public eye.

Apart from discussing other topics, Ishaan voiced his perspective on empowered females. He admitted that while many males claim to be comfortable with assertive women, their discomfort often surfaces when genuine discussions about strength arise, as he observed.

Ishaan attributes his open-mindedness to the upbringing he received from his mother, Neelima Azeem, whom he regards as a powerful and influential figure. “Growing up, all I’ve known is a woman who was self-determined,” he said. “She managed her life, worked, and raised two boys independently.

Initially, Neelima Azeem wed Pankaj Kapur, but later on, she got married to Rajesh Khattar. With the latter, she gave birth to Ishaan. Afterward, she brought up both Ishaan and her other half-brother Shahid Kapoor as a devoted single parent.

Concerning The Royals, Ishaan stated that it doesn’t depict a fabricated form of feminism. “It portrays men and women as equals, highlighting their humanity beyond mere appearances,” he further explained. Notably, Ishaan’s upcoming film, Homebound, has been selected to compete in the Un Certain Regard category at the Cannes International Film Festival.
