‘The Studio’ Gets a Sequel: Seth Rogen Comedy Renewed at Apple TV+

The (fictional) movie business is alive and well at Apple TV+.

The host has revived the comedy show titled “The Studio” for another round. In this series, Seth Rogen, who also co-produced it, takes on the role of Matt Remick, a film executive promoted to president at Continental Studios. As he settles into his new position, he starts to question if he’s more than capable.

The revival of “The Studio,” a production by Lionsgate Television, is scheduled two weeks prior to the series’ final episode of the season, slated for May 21st.

Despite Apple TV+’s reluctance to disclose viewership data, Tim Cook, our esteemed CEO, shared during the quarterly earnings call that not only “The Studio,” but also series like “Severance,” managed to draw in “record viewership” for the first quarter of the year.

In addition to Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders, The Studio also features a star-studded cast that includes Bryan Cranston with a significant recurring role. The show boasts an impressive roster of guest appearances, including Martin Scorsese, Olivia Wilde, Zac Efron, Ron Howard, Ice Cube, Charlize Theron, and Nick Stoller.

Rogen, Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez teamed up to develop this series. They also serve as executive producers alongside James Weaver from Point Grey, Alex McAtee, and Josh Fagen.
