The Summer I Turned Pretty

Spoilers ahead for The Summer I Turned Pretty books. If you haven’t read them, you’ve been warned.

Truthfully speaking, Summer 2025 will feel incomplete without the latest season of Prime Video’s popular teen drama, The Summer I Turned Pretty. Fortunately for fans, they won’t have to endure that sensation this year as the third and final season is set to debut in July as part of the 2025 TV lineup. This means we are just a few months away from discovering who will be chosen in the intense love triangle between Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah. However, given some comments made by Jenny Han, the author turned co-showrunner, I must admit I have concerns as a devoted member of Team Conrad.

Just like any book-to-television transformation, there’s always a possibility that elements will shift. This is something fans of “TSITP” are accustomed to, having seen substantial changes during the first season compared to the original content. Since Han is the author of the books, many of these variations were positively received. However, I find myself becoming somewhat apprehensive about what Han and the creative team might plan for Season 3, given her recent statement to Entertainment Weekly:

Among the facts that fans are familiar with, there are beliefs they believe they understand, and eventually, we hope to unveil things that will astonish them.

Han might be alluding to potential expansions on less prominent aspects of the story, such as delving deeper into the Taylor and Steven relationship that was only briefly touched upon in the book series, or even slight modifications in settings. Alternatively, she could be suggesting more significant alterations, like deciding which Fisher brother Belly will ultimately choose in the adaptation.

It’s clear that readers familiar with the books are aware of whom Belly chooses, but unfortunately, Team Jeremiah fans have been supporting the wrong brother. However, the show’s intention to make Jeremiah the preferred choice in Season 2 has sparked a passionate debate among shippers – even here at TopMob.

As a fan of Conrad, I was eager to see him triumph over Belly in the story, which made me continue with Season 2. However, after Han’s confession and the sneak peeks released on Amazon Prime Video’s Instagram, my certainty has diminished. Feel free to check them out yourself:

It’s hard to argue that Belly and Jeremiah appear unusually close, whereas Conrad maintains his typical reserved demeanor.

Among several images that keep me on tenterhooks, it’s the beach photo that particularly stirs up my apprehensions. The sight of Jeremiah and Belly together in front of a cheerful Conrad suggests to me that the eldest Fisher sibling has accepted Belly’s departure.

As a dedicated fan of Team Conrad, I must admit my disappointment in the plot development. The idea of witnessing Conrad’s valiant pursuit of love is enticing, but the current narrative seems to steer away from that promise. Frankly, I fear finding myself on the losing side of this romantic conflict. This ship war may not be a battle I’d want to lose.

To prepare for the last season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” take advantage of a 30-day complimentary trial on Amazon Prime Video. Once this period ends, you can opt for a monthly fee of $14.99 or enjoy a 22% discount by committing to an annual payment of $139. Check out the offer now!

Additionally, it’s conceivable that Han and the group could shock everyone by allowing Belly to make her own choice, which could potentially be the most favorable outcome for both sides of the audience.

I’m holding on to the belief that Han might be playing coy with her remarks, and perhaps Belly and Conrad will become the main romantic pair as it is in the novels. If that doesn’t happen, I can still cheer for Taylor and Steven.

With an active Amazon Prime Video subscription, you can watch the first two seasons of “The Summer I Turned Pretty”. We’ll make sure to inform you as soon as they announce a specific release date for the final season in July.
