‘The Voice’ Sets Adam Levine, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson as Season 29 Coaches

NBC officially confirmed that The Voice will return for its 29th season, with Adam Levine, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson set to take their seats in the iconic red chairs.

In spring 2026, the music competition is set to introduce a fresh format titled “Battle of Champions”. Notably, this will be the first time that an entire panel on “The Voice” consists solely of previous winning coaches – namely, Levine, Legend, and Clarkson.

This way, the sentence maintains its original meaning but uses more conversational language for better readability.

In February 2026, Season 29 will make its debut. Simultaneously, Clarkson will be filming “The Voice” in Los Angeles and her daytime talk show based in New York. This multi-tasking is possible due to the collaboration between the production teams of both shows, which are part of NBCUniversal.

In the spring of this year, Levine reappeared on “The Voice” for its 27th season, marking a return six years following his original departure from the program. This time around, Clarkson and Legend will be seated in their respective “red chairs” for the tenth and eleventh times.

For the 29th season, there are some new format adjustments. In the blind auditions, a “Triple Turn Challenge” has been added, which grants one coach immunity from others stealing a contestant during the following battle rounds. The knockout rounds will introduce an “In-Season All-Star Competition,” where past competitors make an appearance, and the semifinals and finals will incorporate a “new voting block” consisting of super fans and former Voice artists. These enthusiasts will have the unique chance to participate directly, voting for their favorites in real time while experiencing the competition as part of the live studio audience.
