As a seasoned gamer with years of gaming under my belt, I find myself in a delightful predicament this weekend. With a plethora of games at my disposal, I’m reminded of the wise words of Jupiter from Pokemon TCG: there’s always time for more games when waiting!

Hey there, welcome to our latest edition of The Wrapp.

Here’s your chance to catch a glimpse into the weekend gaming plans of our Pocket Gamer team members! Perhaps this sneak peek will spark some inspiration for your own gaming adventures and maybe even introduce you to a fresh, intriguing title you haven’t tried before.

“Castlevania meets Vampire Survivors”, or “A fusion of Castlevania and Vampire Survivors” refers to a game that combines elements from both games, offering a unique gaming experience.

I wanted to express my enthusiasm for the upcoming Ode to Castlevania DLC in Vampire Survivors. Although I’m not a diehard Castlevania fan, I do have enough knowledge of the series to appreciate having both well-known Belmont family members and lesser-known characters included in Poncle’s popular bullet-filled game. In simpler terms, I can’t wait to see some familiar faces from Castlevania, as well as a few lesser-known ones, in Vampire Survivors!

What really piques my curiosity is the latest version of remixed tracks from Classicvania, and since Poncle tends to hide secrets in their releases, there’s a good chance that this one will be no exception. So, whether on PC or mobile, or possibly both, I plan on spending my free time this weekend immersed in it.

As someone who always plays Pokemon Go, this coming weekend I plan to conduct some Gigantamax Gengar battles within our Pokemon Go community. Last weekend, our group performed exceptionally well in the Gigantamax Starter battles, managing three raids on two separate occasions on Saturday and an additional three raids on Sunday. Many smaller communities faced difficulties, so we’re eager to see how Gigantamax Gengar performs!

Apart from playing the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, I’ve recently begun opening packs of Pokémon cards as well. The cost of buying these cards has always been a turnoff for me, but collecting them this way feels fantastic. Plus, they don’t occupy space or get damaged! I’m gradually building my collection.

I’m continuing to enjoy Neopets: Faerie Fragments, gathering items within Neopets. It seems that by logging in daily, you receive an item in Neopets. If I keep at it, it might last forever! So far, I’ve completed 158 levels out of the required 500 for all the rewards in Neopets. Here’s to hoping I have good luck with those increasingly difficult match-3 puzzles!

Absolutely correct! I’m planning to engage in some Pokémon Go sessions this weekend due to the ongoing excitement caused by the innovative Gigantamax feature. The Starters, as Jupiter pointed out earlier, were quite intense, and it was an exhilarating experience to witness our community persevere against the odds. Watching the count of active Pokémon decrease from 120 to a significantly lower number was nearly mesmerizing.

My youngest child, Robin, enjoyed herself immensely during playtime, and I attribute this joy to her ability to tap along with the survivors’ actions – she can’t wait to play again, as she spends most of her time now on Roblox or cooperative Xbox games.

Beyond this point, I’ll certainly be moving ahead with my dreams for Balatro. I’ve successfully played through eight decks so far, and I find the limitations they impose quite intriguing. It feels like I’m learning from some of the most challenging scenarios you can create, and I’m absolutely hooked on that sensation of ‘I’ve mastered a complex system, yet I’m prevailing’.

Additionally, I’ve recently downloaded a few games that I’m eager to explore: Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice, Iron Roads, and the AR RPG titled ‘Landing Party’. However, it seems like I’ll have to save them for the upcoming week.

In last week’s treatment for lateral epicondylitis, both forearms were scanned using ultrasound, confirming, as expected, that the injured site corresponds to where one holds a phone in landscape position. The cause appears to be excessive use and repetitive movements on those specific areas – it seems my overuse of certain motions has been caught out, and I’m amazed there’s medical evidence to support it.

Well, I’ve been gently diving into Neko Atsume 2 and moving at a leisurely pace, since it’s not always easy to keep up the rhythm when you’re just casually caring for stray felines. Agree? Agree? *wipes brow*

A specific feline, quite remarkably, attempted to squeeze its entire body into a box meant for smaller cakes. Now, it’s half in, with a noticeable patch of fur showing from its rear end. Quite an amusing spectacle, indeed – such is the essence of this extraordinary moment.

This week has been quite exciting in the mobile gaming sphere! The release of Vampire Survivors’ Castlevania DLC, Pokemon TCG Pocket, and Carrion, among others, presents an abundance of options for this weekend’s entertainment. I aim to give each a fair try. As Jupiter pointed out in her Pokemon TCG review, there’s a significant amount of waiting involved, which offers me ample opportunity to explore other games as well.

In recent months, Vampire Survivors has climbed its way up my list of favorite mobile games, becoming an excellent travel companion during long trips. It’s packed with activities and pairs wonderfully with any podcast I decide to listen to while passing the time. Conversely, Carrion is a completely distinct game – a true monster in its own right. Given its intensity, it calls for focused attention, making it ideal for play at home. I’ve been eagerly anticipating this game for several years now, and with its release on mobile, there’s no better opportunity to give it a try.

As a long-time friend who cherishes our bond deeply, I’m beyond excited to welcome my friend back home this week! It feels like it’s been ages since we last saw each other, and I can hardly wait to catch up on all the stories from her life. With such a rich tapestry of experiences woven into our friendship, I know that the weekend ahead will be filled with laughter, tears, and heartfelt conversations.

Over the past week, I’ve delved into Mu Dark Epoch and find myself quite captivated by it. I’ve even made new friends within the game, and we’ve formed a guild now. We’re embarking on quests, confronting bosses, and generally having a blast. Therefore, I anticipate dedicating some hours to this engaging game.

Additionally, a few pals recently began enjoying Throne & Liberty and have been urging me to join in. I decided to give it a shot and downloaded the game (a whopping 71GB!), but I still haven’t delved into it yet. Consequently, this is another game I plan on exploring over the weekend.

I’m going to have to play Balatro, aren’t I?

At GDC in March, everyone seemed to be buzzing about a particular topic, but I chose to overlook it since it was exclusively available on PC. To be honest, I’m just wired to go against the flow and resist jumping on the bandwagon of what’s trendy among my peers when it comes to gaming.

Then it came to mobile late in September, and I ignored it because I was addicted to Marvel SNAP and I’d already dropped money on its Symbiote Spider-Man season pass. (My current favourite SNAP card is Scream, introduced in the We Are Venom season, by the way.)

This weekend, I’m diving into Balatro, which is now available on the App Store and Apple Arcade, as everyone seems to be raving about its captivating gameplay. Even the esteemed Chris James from Pocket Gamer can’t resist giving it a try. Wishing me good fortune in discovering what all the buzz is!
