This young week is yet to unfold its full announcement potential, leaving me uncertain about my mobile gaming adventure. I’ve got a lineup of other games waiting in the wings and I’m still scouting for Off The App Store alternatives, but this week’s podcast episode has sparked some intriguing thoughts about spin-offs. Mobile versions of popular series are prevalent, but it’s fascinating when developers take their time to reinvent them into something entirely new yet still engaging.
It seems that my task will involve tracking down some unusual and intriguing mobile game spin-offs, then I’ll share the findings with you all.

Lately, it feels like Computerized Behavioral Therapies (CBTs) are dominating the scene. Last week, I was engrossed in Mongil: Star Dive, but this weekend, Zenless Zone Zero-esque RPG Neverness to Everness is on my radar. I’ve just completed my first mission, and I can hardly wait to learn more about this game during the weekend. Crossing my fingers that my tennis elbow doesn’t flare up again…

This coming weekend will mainly serve as a relaxation period following a hectic work week in sunny Brighton. In addition to the standard activities like playing Pokemon TCG Pocket and Pokemon Go, I’m looking forward to exploring After Inc., Ndemic Creations’ intriguing sequel to Plague Inc.
This game is set in a hypothetical scenario, many years after Earth has been overrun by zombies (similar to 28 Years Later currently showing in cinemas). Like their previous version, it employs a gradual, endurance-testing system. However, instead of survival, this time it’s about claiming territories and building bases. I’ve managed to finish a few scenarios, and surprisingly, it maintains the same level of intensity as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PI).
Regarding strategy games, I recently found myself revisiting Civilization VII after a break since its release. I’m currently playing it to evaluate how the level-ups and unlocks feel at advanced levels, which is often overlooked compared to discussions about specific leaders and playstyles. It’s intriguing to delve into this aspect, as it holds significant potential that is rarely highlighted.

In my last post, I shared about enjoying Silver and Blood; however, it’s developed into something more. I find myself fully engrossed in this game, and it’s brought me great joy! It’s been a long time since I played a gacha game that offers an abundance of SSR characters, features a progress system independent from Stamina, and has no restrictive limitations. Simply amazing!
Apart from my daily routines in Cookie Run: Kingdom and additional SAB gaming sessions, I stumbled upon an intriguing game named The Case of the Golden Idol. You can find it on Netflix, where the challenge lies in investigating various hints and resolving murder enigmas. Keep in mind that the final play date is fast approaching on July 15th, so if you’re interested, you only have a few days left to explore it!

This coming weekend, I’ll be gearing up for TennoCon, which means my gaming time will be limited. However, I’ll make an effort to open more Eevee Grove packs to complete my full-art collection in the Pokémon TCG Pocket, but otherwise, it’s all about shopping and packing.

This weekend, I’ll be facing the summer heat to attend Pride, which means my gaming time will likely be minimal. However, I may occasionally pick up my Nintendo Switch for brief moments when seeking respite or recuperating from the sun on Sunday. As I’m quite a completionist, I’m continuing my journey through the Ace Attorney series, so I might find myself defending a whale in court or interrogating a parrot at some point.

This week, I’m keenly drawn to Rogue Slime, a turn-based deckbuilding RPG that always catches my eye. The blend of these elements is irresistible, and it’s refreshing to find something with a more whimsical visual style in a world often filled with gritty realism. While I appreciate the darker, somber tones of games like Bloodborne and Dark Souls, it’s delightful to occasionally switch things up with a vibrant palette.

Could you please lower the temperature? On a serious note, as the weather heats up, I find myself reminded of a traditional Japanese practice where people get chilled to alleviate fear. With this in mind, I’m opting for an atmosphere of existential unease rather than pure horror when playing Cultist Simulator on mobile. Other than that, it’s primarily a relaxing experience as I strive not to dissolve like a melted popsicle.
