Things are getting gloomy with Call of Duty: Mobile's season 8 update: Shadow Operatives

  • Call of Duty: Mobile’s season 8 is here with the Shadow Operatives
  • New ‘anti-heroic’ skins and store additions are being included
  • There’s also the new map Combine making the jump from Black Ops: III

As someone who has been gaming since the days of Black Ops and World at War, I must admit that Call of Duty: Mobile’s new season 8 is giving me a sense of nostalgia mixed with excitement. The Shadow Operatives theme is intriguing, and I can’t wait to get my hands on those ‘anti-hero’ operator skins, especially the space gorilla!

In its eighth season, Call of Duty: Mobile takes on a more mysterious tone with the arrival of shadowy operators, known as Shadow Operatives. This mobile version of the hugely successful shooter series brings new items to the store, fresh tasks to conquer, and an entirely new map for gamers to explore. Here’s what you can expect. Let’s break it down.

Among the major updates is a collection of intriguing ‘anti-hero’ character skins, exclusively available with the premium pass. Characters like Samael – Techno Thug have quite mysterious names, hinting at something ominous. These new skins are joined by the debut of the first mythic shotgun, the JAK-12, and yes, you read that right, a space gorilla! (I’m not joking about that either.)

Regarding the fresh map, “Combine” from Black Ops: III is introduced, and it offers a distinctly vertical layout as you engage in combat between two significant structures out in the vast Sahara desert. Keep a keen eye out for enemy fire coming from ledges above while you dodge. For a comprehensive overview of all the new features, head over to the official Call of Duty blog!

Shooty shooty bang-bang

As a gamer, I find it challenging to wrap my head around the latest Call of Duty updates. I may not be an old-school player, but the game has evolved significantly since Black Ops and World at War. However, for fellow enthusiasts who appreciate collectibles, this new season doesn’t disappoint – there’s a plethora to collect! And let’s not forget the fresh map added to keep the rotation interesting.

Every now and then, I find myself keeping tabs on Call of Duty Warzone Mobile, and I have this gut feeling that it’s going to gradually overshadow the usual CoD Mobile experience for me.
