2025 marks a significant milestone for me as a fan, with the grand opening of Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort. However, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation for 2026, as it promises to be an extraordinary year at Universal Studios Hollywood with the debut of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift – the very first roller coaster inspired by the blockbuster Universal Pictures franchise.
As a diehard Fast & Furious enthusiast, I couldn’t contain my excitement when Universal revealed the design of one of the ride vehicles resembling Dominic Toretto’s legendary Dodge Charger! But then, an astute fan on social media spotted something intriguing – it seems that this won’t be the sole appearance of Fast & Furious muscle cars. Upon closer inspection of the simulation video, it appears that other vehicles featured are none other than those driven by our beloved characters from the Fast & Furious series!
It seems there may have been an error in identifying one of the cars in the film, as it’s not Dom’s RX7 from the first “Fast & Furious” movie that is shown, but rather Han’s RX7 which made its debut in “Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift”. However, it’s still quite exciting to know that no matter which car you’re in, you’ll be cruising something that has driven through the streets of a “Fast & Furious” movie as you zoom along the roller coaster track.
As a follower, I want to make it clear that the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift video serves as a simulated representation of the ride, meaning the actual vehicles might not match the ones shown in the video exactly. The only officially revealed vehicle is the Charger. However, it’s reasonable to assume that these vehicles were or are intended for the coaster design. If any changes occur, they will probably be swapped with another iconic Fast & Furious car familiar to fans.

There are several compelling factors that make this an excellent choice. The most sought-after position on any roller coaster is undeniably the front. This preference is unlikely to waver in our case, as the front car promises both thrilling fun and fame, being the star vehicle from the Fast & Furious series. Nevertheless, there will be enthusiasts who desire to experience other specific vehicles, such as Brian’s Skyline or a chance to ride in all the cars across various rides. Consequently, each vehicle becomes an appealing choice, even though the front seat line is bound to remain significantly longer.
As a cinephile eagerly anticipating the next thrilling adventure, I’m excited to share that Hollywood Drift will be Universal Studios Hollywood’s inaugural outdoor roller coaster. This one-of-a-kind journey promises an unparalleled experience, leveraging cutting-edge technology, thoughtfully designing the park layout, and harnessing a franchise that seems custom-built for this high-speed ride – it’s almost surreal to think it’s finally materializing in 2026! Mark your calendars for a late spring or early summer unveiling.
