On one hand, it’s disheartening to see such a renowned figure, who has given us captivating stories through Scam 1992 and other masterpieces, face bureaucratic hurdles that many of us common folk encounter regularly.

Renowned Bollywood director Hansal Mehta, who is active on social media, has voiced his annoyance about the delays in registering his daughter Kimaya’s Aadhaar. Even after multiple visits to the appropriate authorities, the registration process has been halted, causing him to label the situation as ‘unfair treatment.’

Recently, Hansal Mehta expressed his concerns on Twitter, accusing government officials of harassing his daughter. Despite braving the rain and arriving at the Aadhaar office in Andheri East early, the senior manager there continues to send her away with some excuse or another.

In his post, Mehta expressed the experience as extremely aggravating, bordering on intimidation, and directed it towards the official social media handles of the Unique Identification Authority of India and Aadhaar.

Netizens react to Hansal Mehta’s tweet

Following Hansal Mehta’s tweet gaining popularity, many users reacted with their thoughts and anecdotes. One user compared Mehta’s work in Scam 1992, saying “She should follow the paperwork! There’s no room for scams with Mehta here!” Hansal countered by stating, “Is it really? Having a government official place his seal a little higher is considered compliance? Let’s stop this nonsense.”

However, Hansal clarified, “Just wanted to let you know, I’m not a powerful person. I’m a regular middle-class citizen of this nation. I deserve respect and better treatment.”
