As a gamer who’s spent countless hours navigating virtual worlds, I can’t help but feel a sense of familiarity when browsing through Thom Browne‘s Holiday 2024 collection. Just like in my favorite games, every corner holds a surprise, each elevator door concealing a delightful discovery.
The holiday season is quickly approaching, and Thom Browne is already filled with holiday cheer. Known as one of America’s top designers, he has revealed his Holiday 2024 collection in a whimsical advertising campaign that showcases his winter-themed designs on the “Thom Browne Elevator Express” – a magical journey through an imaginary version of his workplace, complete with jingle bells and holiday cheer.
Brown’s label is famous for its creative use of language, often making their collection notes sound like poetic songs filled with secret messages. It was therefore appropriate that this brand shared a poem along with their holiday collection’s advertising campaign.
oh, what a magical sight…
in the office tonight…up, up, and up we go…
exploring floor-by-floor…will we find a new surprise…
behind each elevator door…
Beyond those elevator doors lies a collection of Browne’s vacation-inspired signatures, particularly his affection for animals. Notably, the designer’s dachshund, Hector, is embodied in leather bag charms. The shape of baguette bags resembles bunnies and even features bunny companions. Tie bars are crafted to resemble marine life such as whales, dogs, pigs, and yes, more bunnies.
In other places, I come across intricate intarsia and Fair Isle Christmas sweaters, soft camel trench coats, jackets adorned with bell sleeves and shearling, and gloves, scarves, and hats made from ribbed cashmere. For those who prefer a luxurious hot beverage by the fireplace during the holidays, I collaborated with the legendary porcelain house Haviland to create a four-piece “Tea Time” set.
