Tiger Woods Biopic in the Works at Amazon MGM Studios

Amazon’s MGM Studios is currently working on a biographical film about Tiger Woods, with discussions ongoing about Higher Ground, the production company owned by Barack and Michelle Obama, potentially taking on the project.

The production company acquired the movie licenses for Kevin Cook’s book titled “The Tiger Slam“, and director Reinaldo Marcus Green is currently discussing the project to direct the film version. Additionally, Winkler Films is involved in producing this adaptation.

In “The Tiger Slam,” Cook, a former senior editor at Sports Illustrated and the editor in chief of Golf Magazine, provides an exclusive behind-the-scenes perspective on Tiger Woods’ impressive winning streak that propelled him significantly ahead of his golf tour competitors. The book features insights from Woods’ caddie, coach, opponents, and supporters.

Following his peak in sports, Woods encountered a significant downfall marked by a whirlwind of sorrow due to the passing of his father, Earl Woods, struggles with sex addiction, and bodily strain from overexerting himself on the golf course.

After a comeback attempt, Woods once more tries to rejoin the professional golf tour, but is still hampered by recurring injuries and operations.

The movie adaption of an earlier book by Cook titled “Tommy’s Honor,” which tells the story of old Tom Morris and young Tom Morris, often regarded as the founder and son of golf, was awarded Scotland’s BAFTA as the top feature film in 2016.

The individual known as Cook is handled by CAA (Creative Artists Agency) and David Halpern specifically, at the David Halpern Literary Management agency. The book titled “The Tiger Slam” was released under Avid Reader Press, a division of Simon & Schuster publishing house.
