As a fashion enthusiast with a penchant for the edgy and contemporary, I can’t help but be thrilled by the latest collaboration between Timberland and Veneda Carter. The Danish-born, Los Angeles-based designer has an uncanny ability to breathe new life into classic designs, and this third capsule collection is no exception.
Timberland and designer Veneda Carter initially collaborated in September 2022, as Carter revamped Timberland’s traditional work boot into a sleek, knee-high, shimmering style. Following the collaboration’s success, they reconnected earlier this year to design a patent leather version of Timberland’s classic 6-Inch Premium Waterproof Boot. Fast forward nine months, and the duo is reuniting once more for their third collection – a compact line consisting of two new shoe designs, four Fall 2024 ready-to-wear garments, and one fresh accessory.
Without a doubt, the standout performer in this production is the 14-inch Lace w/ Zip Boot, boasting a bold blue and silver color scheme reminiscent of the past. Its design echoes that of Timberland’s EuroDub boot from the early 2000s, featuring a luxurious patent leather upper, ReBOTL™ fabric lining for breathability, a practical zipper, and a cushioned EVA footbed prioritizing comfort. Equally impressive is the pair’s innovative silver patent leather 6-Inch Waterproof Boot, boasting a watertight construction, a rich full-grain leather collar, the same ReBOTL™ fabric lining, and an EVA footbed for maximum comfort.
When I began collaborating with Timberland on this line, I found myself greatly attracted to furniture made of stainless steel and chrome, which really shines in silver patent leather,” Carter explained. “As for the inspiration behind our tall boot, it stemmed from a discontinued blue Euro Dub colorway that I adored. All these elements blend seamlessly with a monochromatic clothing collection that is both fashionable and functional for daily wear. The pieces can be effortlessly layered and worn together – a key aspect I prioritized.
The collection features the following items: A spacious Ravine Parka featuring two-way zips and multiple practical pockets, a black vest made of durable Cordura fabric with light insulation, a versatile two-piece skirt that can be adjusted at the hem and has hip pockets, and a boiler suit complete with full zippers along the sides and useful chest pockets. To complete the line, there’s the Veneda Crossbody Bag, which boasts expanded piping details and numerous storage areas inside.
