This year’s Anime Expo brought disappointment to many fans as they didn’t get any updates on their eagerly awaited series. Although the show’s third season is still scheduled to premiere in about three months, the panel event over the weekend failed to unveil a new trailer or set a release date.
On the 5th of July, the “Saitama is Back!” panel for the anime series One-Punch Man took place at the JW Marriott Diamond Ballroom within the Los Angeles Convention Center. During this gathering, several Japanese voice actors, including Saitama’s VA Makoto Furukawa, shared insights about the forthcoming season. The cast confirmed that they are actively working on dialogue for Season 3; however, no fresh footage or behind-the-scenes updates were unveiled. This lack of new information has led some enthusiasts to view it as a potential warning sign regarding the future of the anime.
Highly Anticipated One-Punch Man Season 3 Reveal a Flop for Anime Fans
The anticipated third season of “One-Punch Man” is slated to air in October 2025, but there’s not much solid information about it yet. The studio, J.C.Staff, hasn’t announced a director for the new season, which has led some fans to speculate that one hasn’t been picked yet. Additionally, very little promotional material has been released, leaving many eager fans puzzled and questioning the production’s current state. One fan expressed their anxiety saying, “We’ve been waiting six long years for this season, and yet there’s no trailer or even a director announced. Are they scared? What’s going on with ‘One-Punch Man’ Season 3?
At Anime Expo’s panel, fans were treated to some unexpected delights, with one of the standout moments being the unexpected visit by Kaito Ishikawa, the voice actor behind Genos. To add to the excitement, ONE, the creator of One Punch Man, unveiled a fresh character sketch and a heartfelt message about the upcoming season. He expressed his gratitude towards U.S. fans and shared his anticipation for Season 3, promising that it would delve into captivating new adventures for the characters, while staying true to the original manga’s spirit and offering a distinct anime-style narrative.
For Season 3, although the full team isn’t announced yet, several notable figures are coming back. Tomohiro Suzuki, known for “One-Punch Man” and “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End”, is returning as the series composition writer. Chikashi Kubota, who designed characters in Season 2, will return to his role for Season 3, along with Ryosuke Shirakawa from “Violet Evergarden” and “Sound! Euphonium” and Shinjiro Kuroda from “Spy x Family: Code White” – both new members of the staff. Makoto Miyazaki is also returning to compose the series’ music.
The anticipated third season of “One Punch Man” is set to premiere in October 2025. Until then, fans can read the latest installments of the manga by Yusuke Murata and ONE, which are available in English from VIZ Media. In the United States, enthusiasts can catch up on the anime series through Hulu and Disney+.
