As a long-time fan of Tom Cruise, I must say that this man continues to defy gravity and expectations alike! His latest stunt at the Paris Olympics was nothing short of breathtaking. From jumping off a stage in Paris, skydiving into Hollywood, motorcycling through the City of Lights, and passing the Olympic flag to our beloved LA-based Olympians, Cruise has once again proven that he is not just an actor, but a global icon.
On Sunday, Tom Cruise dramatically kicked off the countdown to Los Angeles 2028 in true Hollywood fashion at an event in Paris. Instead of sticking around for the live broadcast, he thrillingly leapt from the stage and was replaced by a pre-recorded clip showing him parachuting into Hollywood.
During the Paris 2024 closing ceremony, Tom Cruise made a dramatic entrance by leaping into the stadium. He moved through a cheering crowd and received the Olympic flag from Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and gymnast Simone Biles. Afterward, he left the venue on a motorcycle, with the flag waving proudly behind him.
In that location, they played a prerecorded video of Cruise riding a motorcycle through Paris, getting on a plane close to the Eiffel Tower, then jumping out and landing near the Hollywood sign’s hills. On those letters “Hollywood,” he placed the Olympic rings.
After that, Cruise passed the flag to several athletes from Los Angeles who were Olympians, leading a throng of spectators towards the Will Rogers beach festivities. Here, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish, and Snoop Dogg each delivered electrifying performances.
As a gamer putting on a show, I might say: Although the skydiving sequence was filmed earlier, the adrenaline-pumping leap into the stadium and motorcycle escape were executed live. I proudly announced this death-defying stunt on social media with a selfie snapped atop the stadium, captioned, “Paris, you rocked it! Next stop: LA.”
Thank you, Paris! Now off to LA.

I’ve been a familiar figure at the Paris Olympics lately. Photographers have caught me in action at various competitions over the past fortnight, and I was there for the grand opening ceremony too. Currently, I’m juggling my gaming time with filming scenes for Mission: Impossible 8. A while back, I was spotted performing another heart-stopping skydive stunt for the movie.
