Tom Ellis to Return for ‘Tell Me Lies’ Season 3, Teases “Dark, Toxic and Funny” Storylines

The Bree and Oliver chaos isn’t over just yet.

Actor Tom Ellis, known for his role as the charming college professor who develops a romantic relationship with Catherine Missal’s character Bree in Tell Me Lies season two, has confirmed to People that he will be reprising his role in the upcoming third season.

Indeed, I’ll be returning. In fact, I’ll be heading over there this coming Saturday to commence filming,” Ellis shared during the CBS Fest in Los Angeles.

Ellis, spouse of Meaghan Oppenheimer, the mastermind behind “Tell Me Lies” series, has shared that he has gone through the initial four episodes and hinted that fans won’t be left feeling let down with the upcoming season.

As always, it’s a blend of ominous, poisonous, and amusing,” the actor from Lucifer remarked. “You’d think our characters had reached their limit in terms of outlandish behavior, but oh, they still manage to surprise us!

In the second season, Oliver chases after Bree, even though he is married to Marianne, who happens to be Bree’s former professor (played by Gabriella Pession). However, it’s uncovered later on that Oliver and Marianne have a non-exclusive relationship. The twist being, Marianne had been informed about Oliver’s affair all along, although he fails to disclose this to Bree.

Ellis hinted that his character will have several opportunities for redemption in the third season. He further mentioned that while his character may not be the main focus this time around, it remains significantly connected to the plotline of the character named Bree.

Although the specifics of season three’s storyline remain secret, viewers may be eagerly anticipating the unveiling of the unknown individual with whom Bree spoke over the phone in the year 2015, prior to her wedding day with Evan, Branden Cook’s character.

Some viewers theorized that it might be Oliver, but later on, Oppenheimer clarified to The Hollywood Reporter after the season finale in October, “I believe making it Oliver would be too straightforward. I’m sure some are speculating about this. But I think many also understand that it’s less likely to be Oliver.

Grace Van Patten, Jackson White, Spencer House, Sonia Mena, Alicia Crowder, Edmund Donovan, and Thomas Doherty are among the cast members in “Tell Me Lies” as well.
