Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan Star in New Guy Ritchie Crime Series at Showtime

As a gamer with a penchant for crime dramas and a deep appreciation for British cinema, this latest news has sent me into a frenzy of excitement! The prospect of Guy Ritchie teaming up with Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren for an original global crime series is nothing short of a dream come true.

A crime series by Guy Ritchie, featuring actors like Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren, is currently being produced for streaming on Paramount+ in collaboration with Showtime.

Titleless Project revolves around a worldwide crime saga, focusing on two rival families situated in London. Their business ventures span across the globe, and one of these families has a dedicated protector, a steadfast “mediator,” who will go to any length to safeguard them.

In this production, Hardy is set to portray Harry Da Souza, a skilled mediator who represents the Harrigan family. Meanwhile, Brosnan will take on the role of Conrad Harrigan, the leader of a prosperous Irish crime clan based in London that Harry serves. Lastly, Mirren will play Maeve Harrigan, the matriarch of the Harrigan family and Conrad’s wife.

This series is being jointly created by Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and it’s set to premiere worldwide in 2025. In the United States, it will be available on both Paramount+ and the Paramount+ with Showtime platform.

Following Paramount+’s decision to produce a spinoff of its crime drama “Ray Donovan,” directed and executive produced by Guy Ritchie, another project from him is now underway. Titled “The Donovans,” this new series will loosely be inspired by the original show that ran for seven seasons on Showtime, with Liev Schreiber portraying a fixer in LA. In simpler terms, a new series titled “The Donovans,” which shares some similarities with the original “Ray Donovan” but tells a different story, is being developed by Guy Ritchie.

Previously speculated to be known as “The Associate” and linked to the “The Donovans” series, the Ritchie crime drama without a title is now confirmed as a separate, independent production set in the U.K. instead.

Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren are highly skilled actors, and we’re thrilled to have them take the lead roles for Guy Richie’s new international, original series,” Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount Global and President/CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios expressed in a statement on Wednesday.

For Ritchie, the new project represents another leap into the realm of television production, having previously worked on his Netflix series “The Gentlemen”. Similarly to “The Gentlemen” and “The Donovans”, Ritchie’s signature storytelling style – London-based crime dramas, as seen in movies like “Snatch” and “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” – forms the backbone of these projects.

The TV show, which features Hardy, Brosnan, and Mirren as main characters, is overseen by a team of executive producers that includes Keith Cox, Nina L. Diaz, David C. Glasser, Ritchie, Jez Butterworth, Ronan Bennett, Kris Thykier, Ivan Atkinson, Tom Hardy, Dean Baker, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, and Bob Yari.

McCarthy stated that the combined talent of Guy, Jez Butterworth, and Ronan Bennett, along with these exceptional actors, makes up an ideal mixture for what he predicts will be another groundbreaking series for Showtime on Paramount+,” suggests a possible paraphrase.
