Tom Hardy Tells Us An Idea They Had For Venom 2 That Would At Least Explain One Of The Strangest Scenes In Venom 3

As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast who’s seen his fair share of superhero movies, let me say this: The dance-off between Venom and Mrs. Chen in “Venom: The Last Dance” was the cherry on top of an already entertaining trilogy. The unexpected detour to Las Vegas added a touch of whimsy that made the movie stand out among its contemporaries.

Fans eagerly anticipate Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s portrayal as the Marvel antagonist Kraven the Hunter, while Sony Pictures wraps up Tom Hardy‘s Venom trilogy with the release of Venom: The Last Dance. Starting December 10 for digital purchase and rental, this final installment will be available in a 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD package on January 21. Collectors can thus gather all the pieces to follow Eddie Brock’s peculiar odyssey with an extraterrestrial symbiote. Throughout the series, we’ve discovered Venom’s favorite foods, why Eddie insists on wearing Crocs, among other tidbits. However, one might wonder how Venom developed such impressive dancing skills?

As a gamer, I initially thought that “Venom: The Last Dance” was hinting at this being the final Venom movie in the series. However, upon closer look, it turns out that “The Last Dance” might be referring to a dance sequence between Venom and his old friend Mrs. Chen (Peggy Lu). In an unexpected twist, the third film takes a detour to Las Vegas where we find Mrs. Chen playing slots. She invites Venom and Eddie (Tom Hardy) into her suite for free, and they share a delightful dance. This side story doesn’t impact the main plot, but hey, who needs logic when you’re having fun?

During our conversation with Tom Hardy at the promotional events for Venom: The Last Dance, we brought up the topic of dancing. In response, Hardy expanded on it.

In the movie Venom 2, they initially planned for Venom to transform during the night and carry out activities without Eddie knowing. This is probably how he learned some of his dance moves since he was active at night when Eddie was asleep.

As a die-hard fan, I’ve got to say that there’s a comics history behind this. When the symbiote first bonded with Peter Parker in the Spider-Man comics, it would sometimes take over its human host, leading him on wild city adventures while Peter was unconscious. Given this backstory, it would have been fitting and logical to include this aspect in the movie “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” even if it added complexity to an already intricate sequel.

In the third and final Venom film, it would have been thrilling for me to witness a series of unconventional dance lessons for Venom. Imagine him mastering those steps alongside Mrs. Chen in an epic duet! Now, I’m just speculating here, but maybe there was that club scene where he got exposed to some groovy moves by observing the energetic kids at the rave?

As a diehard fan here, I’m thrilled to share that “Venom: The Last Dance” is streaming digitally right now! However, if you’re hoping for any Spider-Man-related deleted scenes, I’ve got some disappointing news – there aren’t any. It’s one of those mysteries we fans may never solve why Sony opted to make three Venom movies without including his arch-nemesis. Yet, if you’re keen, you can pre-order the complete three-movie collection on Amazon! Some editions even come with cool collectible Venom action figures. Enjoy the ride, fellow Venom enthusiasts!
