Tom Holland shares his experience filming The Odyssey
In a recent chat with GQ, Holland shared that working on The Odyssey was an unparalleled “top-notch” filming experience compared to his past ventures in projects such as Uncharted and the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man series.
Holland described it as extraordinary, an unparalleled job opportunity, and the most memorable experience he’s had on a film set. He found it thrilling, unique, and believes the upcoming movie will stand out from anything we’ve previously witnessed.
Additionally, the Marvel actor disclosed his experiences collaborating with his idols on-screen, Anne Hathaway and Matt Damon, whom he frequently acts alongside in The Odyssey.
Collaborating with Chris, getting acquainted with him and Emma [Thomas] was simply incredible. I’ve never come across anyone who works quite like they do, and it’s clear why they’re the best in their field. Witnessing their work up close and being a part of the process was an unforgettable experience. Working alongside a true master of his craft and learning from him was the highlight of my career. Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway have always been role models for me, so working with them, learning from them, and building friendships with them has been more than I could ever ask for in a job. I’m extremely proud of the work I’ve produced during this time, and I feel privileged to have had Chris offer me this opportunity. Each day, I approached my work with a strong sense of purpose and determination to prove myself, and I’m deeply grateful for that chance.
The Odyssey will hit theaters on July 17, 2026.
