Torchlight: Infinite’s Outlaw season arrives today, challenging you to take down Tower Co.

  • Torchlight: Infinite’s Outlaw season sees you taking on a fiendish mega corporation
  • It also introduces a new Hero Trait: Rosa – Unsullied Blade
  • There are also overhauls to various systems

After some lighthearted banter at TorchCon, the Outlaw season for Torchlight: Infinite has debuted, bringing significant changes such as a risk-versus-reward system and increased build customization opportunities. Additionally, it introduces a new Hero Trait and seasonal mechanic.

Let’s begin at that point as it instantly reveals the origin of the Outlaw naming system. Throughout the series, your objective will be to dismantle (presumably) malevolent Tower Corp. This task involves locating their transportation, breaking into supply crates, and since this is a video game, fending off endless hordes of adversaries.

If you manage to cause trouble with the megacorp, expect an uptick in your Criminal Record which opens up opportunities to take on Black Market Bounties and additional tasks with substantial payoffs. Moreover, accumulated Tower Coins can be exchanged for a shot at raiding the Central Vault. However, remember that your actions may draw the unwanted attention of a formidable figurehead.

Apparently, crime sometimes pays

Outside of raiding the rich, the latest season introduces a new Hero Trait, Rosa – Unsullied Blade. Fans of battle mages, take note. This melee build scales off mana and sees Rosa using the Realm of Mercury mechanic to blend single-target and AoE damage together.

If the Focus Skills System changes aren’t appealing to you, maybe the new integration of the Imbue system within Focus Skills might catch your eye? Now, this system will empower your strong attacks by factors like critical hits or crowd control successes. It seems there are many possibilities for customization here, as five distinct Focus Skills provide a variety of choices.

The name “The Outlaw” season might just as well be changed to “Overhaul”, given all the changes taking place… To put it another way, the Talent System has been redesigned with more fundamental talents than before and fewer limitations. Now, there’s no need to fuss over primary or secondary details. Imagine the versatility you’ll have when crafting your character in Torchlight: Infinite!
