Tory Lanez Hospitalized After Getting Stabbed In Prison (Reports)

On Monday, it’s been reported by various sources that rap artist Tory Lanez sustained a stab wound while incarcerated at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi.

Reports from TMZ and the Los Angeles Times suggest that rapper Daystar Peterson, also known as Lanez, was attacked by another inmate in a yard at the facility where he’s currently detained on Monday morning. According to TMZ, Lanez was taken to a hospital in Bakersfield for treatment of his non-critical injuries, and the cause of the attack remains uncertain.

No immediate response was received from Peterson regarding a request for comment, neither was there any reply from the representatives of the Kern County Sheriff’s Department or the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation when contacted.

Currently, Trevon Lanez (also known as Peterson) is serving a ten-year prison term following his conviction for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. This incident occurred during an altercation that took place outside a party in the Hollywood Hills during the summer of 2020. According to prosecutors, after Meg exited the vehicle, Lanez shouted “dance, bitch,” and fired shots at her feet, injuring her. In 2020, he was charged with the crime, found guilty in 2022, and subsequently sentenced to prison in August of 2023.

In March, Peterson brought out his first album since his 2022 conviction, titled “Peterson“. He recently announced on Instagram that another album called “Slutty Bass” will be released sometime this summer as well. The rapper described the new album as a mix of “Alone at Prom”, “Miami Bass”, “Alvin and the Monk$”, and “slutty dark R&B vibes”.

Peterson’s trial generated significant international interest in music-related legal cases, with media outlets worldwide covering the proceedings and the statements made by Megan Thee Stallion. In an interview with Women’s Health last year, Megan expressed her feelings about the online backlash, stating that she is often expected to endure criticism, hardship, and abuse gracefully.

For a prolonged period, many individuals failed to acknowledge my humanity, as Stallion put it. It seemed that everyone had become accustomed to my lively and joyful demeanor at social gatherings. I observed people constructing me, then dismantling me, and expressing confusion about their assumptions of who I was expected to be.
