As a fan who’s been hooked since the very first episode of The Traitors, I can’t help but marvel at the cunning strategies employed by the players, especially Phaedra Parks. Her early-morning beauty routine to fool her fellow contestants was nothing short of genius! It just goes to show that appearances can be deceiving in this game of intrigue.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but reminisce about the thrilling twists and turns of The Traitors Season 2, even with Season 3 on the horizon. The Peacock series truly amped up the tension in its second season, leaving many episodes on edge-of-your-seat cliffhangers that had fans buzzing on social media. Among all the chaos, Phaedra Parks from Real Housewives stood out as a master manipulator. Now, she’s dishing the secrets behind her cunning strategies.
Parks was among the Rebels, but she needed to appear Loyal if she wished to collaborate with her fellow Rebels and swipe the prize money. Her actions throughout the series were quite amusing, adding an extra layer of entertainment. Despite being eliminated in Episode 10 out of a 12-episode season, she was the last original Rebel to be expelled, which is still quite noteworthy.
In order to execute this successfully, as Parks explained to PEOPLE, it was crucial to arouse suspicion among players because those who appeared fatigued in the morning were suspected to be Traitors, given they’d been up all night committing murder. Consequently, she had to put great effort into blending in inconspicuously.
I found myself thinking, “I better set my alarm for 4 a.m., ensure I have a well-rested appearance, and look fantastic. That way, no one will suspect I didn’t get enough sleep in the mornings. If you noticed, when the girls arrived looking tired, they’d joke, ‘She must be a traitor; she didn’t sleep at all, see her dark circles.’ So I decided to prove them wrong by appearing well-rested.
It’s quite clever of Parks to put in that much effort. Not only did she need to convincingly portray herself as not being a Traitor, but she even went so far as to wake up early and appear as if she had a good night’s sleep, despite the contrary.
Reflecting on this strategy leaves me curious about other deceptive tactics the Traitors might have employed to convincingly pass as Faithfuls. Maintaining a composed expression is just one aspect; it seems they went to great lengths to preserve their disguise.
For Season 3 of “The Traitors,” the lineup was quite intriguing, featuring stars such as Sam Asghari, Britney Spears’ former partner, Tom Sandoval known for his scandals, Chrishell Stause from “Selling Sunset”, and others. Given their diverse backgrounds, it’s safe to assume that they each employed unique tactics in an attempt to secure the prize money. It remains a mystery what ingenious strategies they might have devised.
Phaedra Parks might not have fared well in “The Traitors,” but she gets another opportunity to shine on a different reality show. The lineup for Season 33 of “Dancing With the Stars” has been unveiled, and she’s one of the celebrities competing for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy alongside her partner Val Chmerkovskiy. Since there are no hidden strategies on this show, only exceptional dancing skills can lead her to victory. However, she certainly possesses the ability to dance her way to the finale.
Individuals who have a Peacock subscription will be able to witness Parks’ cunning tactics in Season 2 of “The Traitors”. Meanwhile, fans can look forward to seeing her attempt dancing when “Dancing with the Stars” returns on Tuesday, September 17 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, as part of the 2024 TV schedule. It’s likely that she has a few surprises in store for this appearance too, even though it won’t be about staying incognito.
