As a passionate fan, I can hardly contain my excitement! Although “Transformers One” doesn’t hit theaters until next week, there’s an early treat in store for us this Saturday, September 14, with special advance screenings. And if Julian Roman’s review on MovieWeb is anything to go by, it seems we have every reason to be thrilled about this new addition to the series! In his own words: “Prepare yourself for what could very well be the best Transformers film yet!
Critics Can See There’s More Than Meets the Eye
The original “Transformers” film is projected to bring in a significant amount of revenue during its opening weekend, with estimates ranging from $40 million to $50 million. Furthermore, as critics’ reviews praise the new “Transformers” movie similarly to its initial reception, it seems that “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” may face more competition than just the peculiar and bizarre in theaters. Todd Gilchrist of Variety comments:
Transformers One offers the same thrill and enjoyment as Hasbro’s transforming robots, but it presents the familiar characters in a more intricate and detailed manner than ever before, creating one of the most complex and realistic depictions of them yet on screen.
Frank Scheck of The Hollywood Reporter also sings Transformers One’s praises by writing:
Apart from the expected loud, high-action scenes, Transformers One offers a plethora of clever humor, both spoken and visual, as well as some unexpectedly heartfelt moments. This is a series that’s been given new life.
The core theme of the movie revolves around the friendship between Orion Pax (portrayed by Hemsworth) and D-16 (Henry), who will eventually transform into bitter foes, Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively. Mae Abdulbaki from Screen Rant expresses: “There’s plenty to appreciate in this film – the character interactions, exhilarating action sequences, and stunning visuals. It creates an engaging origin story.” Jonathan Sim from ComingSoon.net openly comments:
Transformers One is the best Transformers movie ever made.
Lastly, Andrew J. Salazar from Discussing Film gives Transformers One a near-flawless 4.5/5. Essentially, this means it’s almost perfect. In simpler terms, Transformers One is exactly what the franchise requires at this moment. Director Josh Cooley skillfully crafts an engaging original tale, full of respect and maturity that will resonate with fans across all age groups.
On Saturday, September 14, special previews of “Transformers One” are released. Later, fans can watch Chris Hemsworth’s outstanding performance along with Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Buscemi (yes, he voices Starscream!), Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm when “Transformers One” officially hits theaters on September 20.
