Summary
- Spotify and FC Barcelona have tapped Travis Scott for their sixth jersey takeover
- The trio have also designed a Cactus Jack collection of off-pitch apparel
- To celebrate, Scott will be performing in Barcelona for the first time
In July 2022, Spotify and FC Barcelona officially began a long-term partnership, designating Spotify as the primary partner for the esteemed football club. This collaboration launched several projects, one of which is the “Jersey Takeover” series. Notable artists like Drake, Coldplay, ROSALÍA, The Rolling Stones, and KAROL G have each customized a version of the FC Barcelona kit for El Clásico matches – when FC Barcelona faces its rival team, Real Madrid. On May 11, Travis Scott has contributed his unique twist to the jersey design for another El Clásico game.
The emblem of Cactus Jack can be found at the front of the jersey, an area usually occupied by Spotify’s logo. This layout is carried across various pieces of clothing as part of a special collection developed by the trio – a unique line limited in production, intended for casual wear. The collection encompasses a jacket, two hoodies, a vintage-style jersey, t-shirt, shorts, cap, scarf, and even a retro football. According to Scott, this collaboration isn’t simply about sticking Cactus Jack on a jersey; it’s about creating something that merges the boundaries between music and sports.
On this occasion, Spotify has elevated the experience by arranging Scott’s debut performance in Barcelona. Although specifics are still unclear, it’s been hinted that his most dedicated fans in the city will be granted access to an exclusive concert, scheduled for May 10 at a renowned venue right in the city center. This exceptional location will be temporarily transformed into a stage, offering an indelible memory for fans.
I, as a passionate fan, can’t wait to catch FC Barcelona going head-to-head against Real Madrid on May 11, donning the unique Cactus Jack-themed jerseys! The female division of FC Barcelona, FC Barcelona Femini, will also sport these special edition kits during their last Liga F match of the season on May 18. Starting today at 10am CEST, you’ll be able to grab these limited jerseys from the official Barça stores in Spain and online. Meanwhile, the entire Cactus Jack collection will be released via Travis Scott’s website on May 9.
