As a gamer who’s been to my fair share of concerts over the years, let me tell you, Travis Scott’s “CIRCUS MAXIMUS” tour has truly outdone itself! I mean, setting a new record as the highest-selling tour by a solo rapper? That’s no small feat!
Travis Scott has set a new record with his recent “CIRCUS MAXIMUS” tour.
According to Billboard, Scott’s recent concert series has broken records as the highest-grossing solo rap tour ever, earning $209.3 million USD from 1.7 million tickets sold over 76 dates. The most profitable stop was in Melbourne with two shows that brought in $12.6 million USD and sold 115,000 tickets each, while the last nine shows accounted for nearly a quarter of the tour’s total attendance, selling a combined 415,000 tickets.
Between 2018 and 2019, the “CIRCUS MAXIMUS” tour surpassed La Flame’s “Astroworld: Wish You Were Here” tour in both ticket sales and earnings. The “CIRCUS MAXIMUS” tour sold over twice as many tickets and earned three times more than its previous version. Additionally, it sold 53% more tickets per show compared to “Astroworld,” played more than 20 shows, and raised its ticket prices by approximately 65%.
In a near tie with Scott’s record, JAY-Z has sold almost two million tickets for the “On the Run II” tour he co-headlined with Beyoncé. Only one other solo rapper, 50 Cent, managed to surpass a million tickets during his “The Final Lap” tour in 2023.
