As a long-time fan of Travis Scott and someone who has attended multiple concerts, I can confidently say that every performance by this artist is nothing short of exhilarating. The energy and intensity he brings to the stage are truly unmatched. However, as someone who was following the news about his recent show in Milan, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of concern when I heard reports of locals mistaking the vibrations from the crowd for an actual earthquake.
Travis Scott is now in Europe for the European portion of his UTOPIA: CIRCUS MAXIMUS concert tour. A massive crowd of around 80,000 people attended his recent show in Milan this week. However, the excitement generated by the performance led to a false alarm of an earthquake, which alarmed nearby residents.
At the Ippodromo Snai La Maura in Milan, La Flame set the venue ablaze by performing his popular track “FE!N” repeatedly, causing a commotion that resonated beneath the earth’s surface. Previous concerts by Travis Scott have elicited similar reactions. Last year at the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum, over 60,000 people leapt so intensely that locals mistakenly believed an earthquake had occurred. Recently in Milan, concerned local residents took to social media, expressing feelings of earthquake-like vibrations and asking if others had experienced the same. One user questioned, “Am I the only one who felt a quake in Milan?” while another added, “Did anyone else sense three strong tremors in Milan?” In response, Scott shared footage from above the concert on Instagram, showing crowds of ragers and mosh pits forming throughout the venue. The caption read, “The night before was surreal. As Strobermg put it, ‘This isn’t a festival; this is a show on the tour.’ Milan fans, you owe me nothing – you gave me everything! Circus Maximus. @whitetrashtyler was truly hyped about this.”
