- Upcoming ARPG title Tribe Nine has unveiled a new, action-packed trailer
- The reveal came as part of Gamescom Opening Night Live in Cologne
- It gives us more glimpses of gameplay and new bosses
As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for unique aesthetics and a penchant for action RPGs, the trailer for Tribe Nine has certainly piqued my interest. Having dabbled in the dark and twisted world of Danganronpa, I can appreciate the designer’s knack for creating games that aren’t afraid to push boundaries. The blend of retro-inspired graphics and modern gameplay mechanics seems intriguing, although it remains to be seen if it will live up to the hype.
In case you haven’t been aware, last night was the turn of Cologne to host Gamescom Opening Night Live. This grand event showcased previews, unveilings, and more, with a focus on mobile games, among which we have Tribe Nine, our current topic. This Action Role-Playing Game is set in a future Tokyo controlled by street gangs, who engage in deadly games of an extreme version of baseball – a subject we’ve discussed previously.
The new trailer offers brief peeks into the gameplay, dividing it between conventional team fights common in Action Role-Playing Games (ARPGs) and an old-school inspired open world where characters are represented in 8-bit style on a 3D backdrop. It appears to suggest that challenge level will be significant, though this could also be a carryover from designer Kazutaka Kodaka’s previous work on the gruesomely challenging Danganronpa series.
Regardless, the newest trailer doesn’t appear to disclose any fresh information regarding Tribe Nine. However, enthusiasts eagerly awaiting a broader understanding and additional glimpses of the game might want to watch the new trailer available below!
Play ball!
Although Danganronpa wasn’t a big favorite of mine, Rui Komatsuzaki’s unique art style in Tribe Nine really catches my eye. It certainly sets the game apart, but I’m not entirely convinced that the gameplay, which appears to emulate the flashy elements of gacha games, will maintain this level of quality.
Instead, feel free to explore some of the feedback we’ve received, such as our review for The Darkside Detective – a classic point-and-click adventure game that harkens back to the past.
