TV Ratings: ‘Suits LA’ Premiere Shows Big Growth With Streaming

Initially, NBC’s Sunday dramas, “Suits LA” and “Grosse Pointe Garden Society,” didn’t garner impressive viewership numbers. However, after a few days of online streaming, the situation seems to be improving significantly.

On February 23, the network experienced its highest rated Sunday for entertainment series programming, excluding Sunday Night Football or specials, since 2019, following a successful debut of The Americas.

For the debut of Suits LA on television, Nielsen reports 2.61 million same-day viewers. After adding in views from Peacock within three days and delayed viewing, it totals up to a whopping 4.7 million viewers (as per Nielsen and NBC’s own data). In contrast, Grosse Pointe Garden Society saw its viewership skyrocket from 1.79 million for the initial airing to an impressive 3.3 million viewers across all platforms within a span of three days.

The two shows significantly boosted their viewership ratings among adults aged 18-49. Specifically, the ratings for Suits LA jumped from 0.24 to around 0.75, while Grosse Pointe Garden Society increased from 0.17 to approximately 0.53.

In its initial run on television, “The Americas” garnered impressive viewership, with an average of close to 5 million viewers for the first two episodes. Within a span of three days, the debut episode of the nature documentary series narrated by Tom Hanks attracted 6.7 million viewers, while the second installment rose to 6.1 million. These numbers represent the highest viewership for a non-sports or special program airing at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Sundays on NBC in nearly seven years.

Approximately 15 million individuals tuned into NBC’s February 23 Sunday programming schedule for at least a brief period, over a span of three days.
