Udit Narayan on his narrow escape from tragic fire incident in his building; ‘Aapki blessings thi ki aapka singer bhi bach gaya…’

Udit Narayan, a highly acclaimed singer in Bollywood, has produced numerous chart-toppers during the 90s. He is admired for his humble demeanor and courteous attitude. Lately, his supporters have been anxious due to a disastrous fire that occurred late at night in Skypan Apartments, Shastri Nagar, Andheri West – Udit’s residence. However, the singer has now assured everyone of his safety and expressed heartfelt appreciation for the well-wishes conveyed by his fans.

In a recent chat with Vickey Lalwani, Udit Narayan revealed harrowing events from January 6, 2025. He recounted that the fire broke out in another part of his apartment building, causing an evacuation on that fateful night.

Narayan reminisced about the turmoil and remarked, “We wondered what was going to happen next. It was quite a struggle to get out since the elevators weren’t working.

Living on the 11th floor, Udit shared that it was tough for him to evacuate his 108-year-old mother from the building due to darkness and smoke. Yet, with the help of a few individuals, they managed to complete the task within about half an hour as firefighters moved inside.

It has been acknowledged by the singer from Udja Kale Kawan that a fire, which tragically resulted in the death of Rahul Mishra, a 75-year-old neighbor and friend of Udit Narayan, was caused by an electrical short circuit. The unfortunate incident took place on the 11th floor of a building’s other wing where Mishra resided. Despite being rushed to Kokilaben Hospital, Mishra did not survive due to severe smoke inhalation. Additionally, another individual sustained injuries during this dangerous event.

Nevertheless, the artist known as Gun Gun Guna expressed appreciation towards his fans for their well-wishes and prayers, which he said helped keep him safe. Narayan stated, “It was thanks to your blessings that my singer remained unscathed.” (Your blessings are the reason why my singer survived.)

The blaze sparked widespread alarm among local residents, prompting immediate response from emergency crews. Firefighters worked diligently to contain the flames, though several apartments were left in ruins and the residents stunned by the event. Ongoing probes into the cause are being conducted at this time.
