Uncovering the Haunting Secrets of Seal’s Super Bowl Ad: BTS Video Reveals Hidden Horrors

Although some might view this year’s Super Bowl as a nightmarish gridiron spectacle, it’ll be tough for future TV schedules to outshine the peculiarity of Seal appearing as…a seal during Super Bowl LIX. The Taika Waititi-directed Mountain Dew ad that was showcased in our live blog was certainly memorable and lingered in my mind. I assumed watching the making-of process would alleviate this lingering unease, but quite the opposite happened.

Glancing backstage at Mountain Dew’s latest Super Bowl advertisement remains as enjoyable and informative as ever. Even Extra-Terrestrial (ET) managed to secure Seal’s thoughts on how the director of Thor: Love and Thunder agreed to this project, purely for the chance to work with him! Furthermore, there are additional tales about making his children giggle, accompanied by footage of the real filming – footage you can now watch, if you have the courage.

Growing up, I was less frightened after watching a detailed documentary about Michael Jackson’s Thriller. It’s great to see Mountain Dew making this content available for all. Interestingly enough, it wasn’t the filming of the British artist singing on set that was unsettling; I had assumed they would dress him in some kind of motion-capture animal suit, but that wasn’t the case.

Now, we’ve both witnessed the initial shooting stages and the final outcome from this weekend’s major game – neither of which is particularly frightening. This might have you all wondering, “Mike, what on earth are you afraid of?” Well, my dear reader, it’s the things they’re choosing not to show us that give me pause.

Reflecting on the video clips, they captured not only the famous singer known for “Kiss From A Rose” but also a statue symbolizing his maritime counterpart as a reference. This suggests that the process of designing Seal’s emblem might be where our future nightmares could originate.

Can you picture all the unique Mountain Dew designs that were created using computer-generated imagery? The ideas that didn’t make the cut might have been as terrifying as anything H.P. Lovecraft could dream up, since everything from the shape of the bottle to combining Seal’s face with an animal body could have gone awry.

At one extreme, Seal’s face might have been so seamlessly integrated that he resembled Lady Cassandra from the initial phase of contemporary “Doctor Who.” Conversely, at the other extreme, we could envision a bizarrely elongated neck with Seal’s head attached to it.

Imagining an overwhelming flood of outcomes from either situation, whether it’s under the cover of darkness or in bright daylight, can be quite unsettling! These images evoke a distinct image of bodily horror, reminiscent of some of the most terrifying scenes in John Carpenter’s classic horror film, The Thing.

After witnessing that Seal’s commercial once more, it’s clear why Mountain Dew’s Super Bowl ad continues to give me the chills. The chilling final image of their product is downright unsettling compared to network executives casually reading fan reactions to the new Fox scorebug.

Without a doubt, Mountain Dew’s Baja Blast will linger in people’s minds! This ad certainly achieves its purpose. While I can’t criticize the video itself for being effective, I must say that the creators have raised an intriguing question: “Imagine if Seal’s seal had a baby with a wild seal, what would it look like?” That’s something I can’t help but ponder!
