In the game Avowed, totems serve as a unique method to modify your gameplay or enhance your build with additional bonuses. To unlock this feature, you must finish the God Totem quests, which are exclusive to each main region. For instance, the Totem of Defiance is the quest for the Emerald Stair area. One of the necessary totem pieces in this quest is the Effigy Necklace. Here’s a guide on how players can locate this totem fragment in the region.

Where to Find the Effigy Necklace Totem Fragment in Avowed

In the game Avowed, the Effigy Necklace Totem Fragment can be discovered within the Naku Tedek Grounds, which is situated in the Emerald Stair region. This notable site will be part of your journey during the Ancient Soil main quest. You’ll find it positioned to the west of Maxim’s Claim and southwest of Fior Mes Iverno.

Head Inside the Naku Tedek Grounds

Upon reaching Naku Tedek, head straight into the main structure to begin searching for the totem fragment within. Once you’ve entered the grounds of Naku Tedek, follow the corridor that leads to a deep, dark pit with winding staircases on either side. Be cautious while navigating the pit using the spiral stairs, as falling from such heights could result in severe harm to your character.

Effigy Necklace Location Within Naku Tedek Grounds

At the base, there are paths going left and right. You should choose the path on the left side where you’ll encounter a locked door that has an Essence Generator next to it. Use an Electric Lily Seed or cast a spell to activate the Essence Generator and unlock the door. Inside, you’ll notice a pool over yonder, and a large tree branch extending towards the upper platform.

Equipping the Effigy Necklace & Its Effects

To traverse the pool and ascend the tree branch beyond, cast your freezing spells on the water first so it transforms into ice. Then, use the tree branch as a stepping stone to reach the elevated platform. Once you’re there, turn your gaze towards the table located on your right side to retrieve the Totem Fragment.

To get the most out of your party camp, head over to the Schemer’s Offering Totem Base. Activating it in Avowed will grant a combat boost that lets you retaliate against enemies by dealing 20% of the damage they inflict on you within a 10-second timeframe. This effect can accumulate with Retribution for added advantage.
