Usman’s Jealous Reaction to Cortney’s Hospital Visit: TLC’s Worst Edit Yet!

Heed this notice! The ensuing details reveal spoilers from the 90 Day: Hunt for Love episode entitled “The Boy Who Fell For Her (Literally).” You can watch it on HBO Max, but do so at your own peril!

In the following episode, after keeping fans guessing for two episodes in a row, “90 Day: The Hunt For Love” finally disclosed that it was Colt Johnson who was taken away by an ambulance. Unfortunately, he suffered another leg fracture, which had previously been broken while filming the show before this comeback attempt following his breakup with Vanessa Guerra. Most cast members were distressed by the situation, but one individual had a unique reason for their concern that differed from everyone else’s.

Usman Umar hasn’t had the most favorable edits in this spinoff yet, and TLC appears to have unfairly treated him in the latest episode. A particularly disappointing turn for Usman might be since the time he was exposed for regifting a PS5 on 90 Day Fiancé, his focus has been more on Cortney Reardanz‘s situation rather than anything concerning Colt.

Usman’s Immediate Reaction Was Questioning Why Cortney Went To The Hospital With Him

Usman unexpectedly joined the group discussion about Colt’s injury, but things got off-track when he learned that Cortney had accompanied Colt’s romantic competitor to the hospital. Even though everyone tried to refocus on sending well wishes to Colt and discussing how frightening the situation was, Usman persistently pressed for explanations as to why Cortney went to the hospital.

Beyond just being upset, he showed clear signs of jealousy as well. He went so far as to imply that Cortney was no longer a romantic possibility because she chose to stay at the hospital over the resort and a potential date with him. At this moment, it seemed like his thoughts were spilling out uncontrollably, in an unfortunate display.

Usman’s Kneejerk Reaction Being Filmed Was A Bad Look That Probably Shouldn’t Have Aired

It seems clear that Usman probably agreed to let TLC film whatever during his time on 90 Day: Hunt For Love, yet it feels uncomfortable to broadcast such private moments for the audience to watch. Usman appears to show no empathy towards Colt in this situation, instead becoming angry that Cortney isn’t spending more time at the resort with him. It may not be the producers’ fault that he made those comments, but using footage of his immediate response and airing it all strikes me as inappropriate.

One Major Reason I Think 90 Day: Hunt For Love Is A Bad Spinoff For Tiffany Franco To Have Joined

As a devoted cinephile, I couldn’t help but notice a striking similarity between the narrative setup in “90 Day: Hunt For Love” and its strategic casting of Tim Malcolm’s ex, Jennifer Tarazona, and what seemed like an intentional editing choice in our current series. It appeared as though this edit was carefully designed to cast Usman in a particularly unfavorable light.

90 Day: Hunt For Love is now streaming on HBO Max! Start enjoying it for just $9.99/month with the Ads plan. We have three tiers available, and you can even save up to 20% by pre-paying for a year’s subscription. Check out the deal here!

From my perspective, the only explanation that seems plausible for this situation is if it somehow contributes to why Cortney loses romantic interest in him in the future. If she were to reappear and everyone shared with her that Usman was disheartened because she chose to be with Colt at the hospital, I could understand how that might be relevant.

In this captivating show, much like when Jennifer finds herself entangled with Robert Warren and chooses to keep her indiscretions hidden, such moments provide valuable context for viewers, helping us delve deeper into the narrative. However, if no resolution arises from it, I can’t help but empathize with Usman, who unintentionally appears unsympathetic when Colt suffers a grievous fall outside Cortney’s room and fails to show remorse. Here’s hoping that Usman’s character will receive some form of redemption as the season unfolds.

Every Monday at 8:00 p.m. ET on TLC, the reality series “90 Day: Hunt For Love” carries on. Frankly, I’m eager to witness some development from these couples, given that I doubt anyone will depart this resort in a relationship based on what we’ve seen so far.
