UTA Adds Former Wasserman Exec Shelley Lewis to Comms Team

As a gamer with a deep appreciation for the behind-the-scenes workings of the entertainment industry, I can’t help but be thrilled about UTA’s latest addition to their communications team: Shelley Lewis. With her extensive experience in strategic communications for some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment, she’s exactly the kind of game-changer we need in this dynamic and ever-evolving landscape.

UTA has hired Shelley Lewis as vp of communications.

After serving as the communication chief at Caruso, Lewis joins a Hollywood company specializing in talent, entertainment, sports, and advisory services. Prior to this role, she spent a decade leading the communications team at Wasserman, a management firm founded by Casey Wasserman that made approximately 15 acquisitions during her time there.

“Shelley has a demonstrated ability to craft clear and effective messages for various audiences, be it external or internal,” stated Richard Siklos, UTA’s communication chief, on Thursdays announcement regarding Shelley’s employment.

At UTA’s Beverly Hills base, Lewis has recently joined the Hollywood agency following a string of acquisitions and alliances. Notable among these are Rich Paul’s KLUTCH Sports Group, MediaLink, and the Curtis Brown Group based in the UK. Lastly, UTA added ROOF, a European soccer talent agency, to its sports divisions last month.

ROOF will collaborate closely with Paul’s Klutch Sports Group, which currently manages several prominent athletes in the NBA, WNBA, NFL, and MLB, all sports striving for international recognition. Additionally, UTA expanded its marketing reach by purchasing JUV Consulting, a business that excels at linking brands with Gen Z and youth culture trends.

As a gamer, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some big names in the industry, like Google, Unilever, Converse, E.L.F. Beauty, Lionsgate, and even more recently, after UTA’s acquisition of MediaLink for $125 million last year. And just when I thought things couldn’t get any better, UTA opened new offices in London and Atlanta! It’s an exciting time to be a part of this dynamic team.

At the beginning of her professional journey, Lewis worked for the small PR firm The Thomas Collective. Later on, she took up a position of great responsibility as the head of communications at NetApp, a data storage business.
