Coming from a humble beginning as a pandemic project by developer poncle, it’s astounding to see how far this bullet hell title has come.
Vampire Survivors, a highly acclaimed action-packed game, is now live on Apple Arcade without any in-app purchases. You’ll not only get the main game but also two DLCs with the enhanced version called Vampires Survivors+. This year’s top-rated Steam game, boasting 98% positive reviews, has also bagged two BAFTAs and made it to The New Yorker’s Best Video Games of 2022 list.
Vampire Survivors is a widely enjoyed casual action game that incorporates rogue-like features, often referred to as an endless ‘bullet hell’ experience with a dark, gothic atmosphere. In this game, you face waves of monsters and the objective is straightforward: survive for as long as possible amidst these enemy mobs. As you progress, you gather gold that can be utilized before your next attempt to upgrade your survivor character.
Vampire Survivors+ provides the latest iteration of the game with over 50 playable characters and approximately 80 weapons at your disposal. Additionally, there are numerous upgrades available for your characters. The Apple Arcade version comes equipped with both the ‘Legacy of the Moonspell’ and ‘Tales of Foscari’ DLCs, which usually require separate purchases on other platforms.
The DLC packs add a multitude of new weapons, characters and power-ups. Additionally, the DLCs include new stages for you to take on. Along with the launch, developer poncle released a new Vampires Survivors+ trailer. The trailer shows off some cool weapons and tons of action-packed levels.
The game titled “bullet hell” was developed by the game studio poncle, based in London. Its founder, Luca Galante, created this game amid the pandemic as a means to enhance his programming abilities. Remarkably, his creation, known as ‘be the bullet hell’, experienced unprecedented success.

Having played it across various platforms – Steam, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and even mobile devices – I can attest to its versatility and accessibility.
