The second installment of the movie Kesari, starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R. Madhavan, is generating a lot of buzz at the box office. This film, directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, has been receiving overwhelming praise from both audiences and critics. Simultaneously, Varun Dhawan, one of many Bollywood stars, has recently shared a heartfelt message expressing his thoughts on this period-drama movie.
On April 20th, Varun Dhawan posted a picture on Instagram showcasing a scene from the movie starring Ananya Panday and Akshay Kumar. Expressing his affection for the movie, he described it as “powerful” and commended the performances of both actors with heartfelt compliments.
He posted, “What an amazing movie! It was fantastic to watch it in the theater. Kudos to @bindraamritpal, #karan, and @ananyapanday! You all did great. I admire @actormaddy, you were superb, sir. And @akshaykumar, your dedication and effort are evident in this film. Well done, @karanjohar, you’ve done it again!” He also appreciated “@azeemdayani for the beautiful score.
In response to his praise, Karan Johar reshared the post on Instagram and responded with “VD” and a string of heart emojis. (VD likely stands for “Very Much Done”, but it could also mean something else in another context.)
Varun Dhawan reviews Kesari Chapter 2
Previously, numerous Bollywood personalities such as Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Suniel Shetty, Ramesh Taurani, Sunny Kaushal, among others, shared touching tributes praising the movie.
In Chapter 2 of Kesari, newcomer Karan Singh Tyagi takes the helm for his first directorial project. This movie delves into a previously untold account – the horrific Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Akshay Kumar portrays C. Sankaran Nair, a courageous lawyer who dared to challenge the British monarchy. Actress Ananya Panday and R. Madhavan take on the roles of Dilreet Gill and R Neville McKinley respectively in this historical drama.
The movie, which is a joint production of Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra, and Anand Tiwari, was launched this week on April 18, 2025.
In terms of his professional life, Varun will make an appearance next in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, sharing the screen with Janhvi Kapoor. This upcoming romantic comedy, helmed by Shashank Khaitan, also features Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, Sanya Malhotra, and Akshay Oberoi in significant roles. The film is scheduled for release on September 12, 2025.
In addition to this, he also has Sunny Deol’s Border 2 and No Entry 2 in the pipeline.
